Summary

This 2025 Toyota Hiace GL offers a versatile six-seat configuration that perfectly bridges the gap between a pure cargo van and a passenger shuttle. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for commercial resale in the UAE, ensuring you retain maximum value when it is time to upgrade. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-equipped with a high-capacity air conditioning system specifically designed to handle extreme Gulf summer heat. The 2.8-litre engine paired with a manual transmission is widely regarded by regional fleet operators as the gold standard for long-term mechanical durability and ease of maintenance.

This Car vs Other 2025 Toyota Hiaces

While many Hiace listings feature the high-roof commuter or standard 3-seat cargo layouts, this 6-seat GL trim offers a unique multi-role capability. Being a brand-new 2025 model, it benefits from the latest structural refinements and upgraded safety sensors that are often absent on older or non-GCC inventory. The white paint remains the primary choice for corporate fleets and private operators across the GCC due to its superior heat reflection and market-leading resale demand.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim elevates the Hiace beyond the basic 'Standard' workhorse by adding essential interior refinements such as upgraded fabric upholstery and silver-toned dashboard accents. Unlike base cargo models that often feature only front-row cooling, this GL variant includes dedicated rear air conditioning vents to keep all six passengers comfortable in 45°C+ temperatures. You also gain powered door locks and a more sophisticated infotainment interface compared to the entry-level fleet versions.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai H1, the Hiace leads the segment in long-term residual value and parts availability across the entire GCC. Its 2.8-litre engine is tuned for high-torque delivery, providing more effortless pulling power for heavy loads than smaller-displacement rivals. The Toyota also benefits from a superior service footprint, with authorized centers easily accessible from Abu Dhabi to Muscat and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs remain low due to the Hiace's legendary mechanical simplicity; service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and parts are widely available at competitive price points. Real-world fuel economy for the 2.8-litre petrol engine is approximately 10.9 L/100km on the highway, though this varies during stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. The Hiace historically suffers the lowest depreciation in the van segment, typically retaining 85-90% of its value after the first year in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

The manual 2.8-litre powertrain is a workhorse, delivering a robust 1900 kg braked towing capacity that is ideal for transporting equipment or small trailers. Its rear-wheel-drive layout provides excellent traction when the van is fully laden, ensuring stability during long-distance highway hauls between Emirates. With a turning circle of approximately 5.5 meters for the standard wheelbase, it remains remarkably maneuverable in tight urban loading zones.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured with 6 seats, allowing for a generous cargo area behind the second row while still moving a full crew comfortably. Toyota’s legendary GCC-spec air conditioning system is the standout feature here, providing rapid cabin cooling even after the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight. The ergonomically designed cockpit reduces driver fatigue during long shifts, featuring clear visibility and intuitive control placement.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for a commercial vehicle, featuring Toyota Safety Sense technologies such as Lane Departure Alert and Pre-Collision systems. Dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) are standard, providing a secure platform for both highway travel and city deliveries. The inclusion of Hill-start Assist Control is particularly useful for manual transmission drivers when navigating inclined exit ramps or mountain roads.

The bottom line

For the business owner or family needing a balance of passenger capacity and massive cargo utility, this GCC-spec Hiace GL is the most reliable investment available in the current market.
