Summary

This diesel-powered Hilux represents the definitive GCC workhorse, offering a perfect balance between heavy-duty capability and the updated SGLX cabin refinements. As a 2025 model, it benefits from the latest facelift styling while retaining the legendary 2.4L D-4D powertrain known for its bulletproof reliability in desert temperatures. The SGLX trim is a strategic choice in this market, providing essential tech like a touchscreen and rearview camera that significantly bolster its resale appeal compared to base commercial variants. Finished in white, the strongest resale color in the region, this pickup is ideally suited for anyone needing a dual-purpose vehicle that transitions seamlessly from industrial sites to weekend desert drives. In a region where long-term durability is the ultimate currency, this Hilux remains the segment's most secure investment.

This Car vs Other 2025 Toyota Hiluxs

With zero or near-zero mileage typical of a new 2025 model, this Hilux offers a fresh mechanical start compared to the high-usage examples often found in the UAE market. Its diesel configuration is particularly sought after for long-range efficiency and torque-heavy tasks, setting it apart from the more common petrol variants. The white exterior is the gold standard for GCC resale, ensuring it remains a liquid asset for years to come.

SGLX vs Lower Trims

The SGLX trim bridges the gap between a work tool and a lifestyle vehicle, adding 17-inch alloy wheels and a steel front bumper that lower trims lack. Inside, you get a significant upgrade with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay, a rearview camera, and a cooled center console box—features that are essential for summer comfort in the Gulf. It also includes the driver knee airbag and cruise control, providing a level of safety and convenience not found on the base GL versions.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi L200 and Isuzu D-Max, the Hilux leads with a superior 286 mm ground clearance and a broader authorised service network that spans every corner of the GCC. While rivals may focus on road manners, the Hilux maintains its edge with a 700 mm wading depth and a robust ladder-frame chassis designed for extreme heat. Its resale value at the three-year mark consistently outperforms the Ford Ranger in the local used market.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 2.4L diesel settles around 7.6 L/100km on the highway, making it an excellent choice for long-distance hauls between Emirates. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, supported by an unmatched availability of spare parts across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Hilux typically retains roughly 75% of its value after three years in the GCC, a retention rate that is among the highest in the entire automotive sector.

Performance & Capability

The 2.4-liter D-4D engine produces a stout 400 Nm of torque, ensuring it can easily manage its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity even in soft sand. The selectable 4WD system and high ground clearance allow for confident navigation through rocky wadis and dunes. On the highway, the 6-speed automatic transmission is geared for efficiency, providing a stable and composed ride during high-speed cross-country commutes.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat cabin features high-quality fabric upholstery designed to withstand the wear of a GCC work site. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for regional heat, supplemented by dedicated vents to keep the cabin cool during July peaks. Tech highlights include the 4.2-inch multi-information display and an intuitive 8-inch touchscreen that brings modern smartphone connectivity to a rugged platform.

Safety

Standard safety for this SGLX trim includes dual front airbags plus a driver's knee airbag for enhanced protection. Active systems like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and Traction Control ensure stability on loose gravel and slippery surfaces. The inclusion of front and rear parking sensors alongside a rearview camera makes navigating tight urban parking and job sites considerably safer.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who values mechanical longevity and market-leading resale value above all else, this 2025 SGLX Diesel is the most logical and durable choice available.
