Summary

This 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Black Edition offers a compelling opportunity to own the latest generation of the GCC's most trusted SUV with only 15,000 km. As a Black Edition, it carries a specialized aesthetic that holds exceptional resale value in the local market, where the 300-series continues to see high demand. The twin-turbo V6 provides a massive leap in refinement and overtaking power compared to the older V8, making it ideal for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. For a GCC buyer, this represents a near-new flagship vehicle that bypasses the long waitlists often associated with top-tier Land Cruiser trims. It is the definitive choice for those who require ultimate desert capability without sacrificing executive road presence.

This Car vs Other 2025 Land Cruisers

With just 15,000 km, this vehicle is significantly below the average GCC annual usage of 25,000 km, placing it in the 'near-new' category for the used market. The Black exterior is a high-demand, high-resale choice in the region, ensuring better value retention than more niche colors. Choosing a 2025 model provides the peace of mind of a long remaining factory warranty and the most up-to-date software for the 10-speed transmission.

BLACK EDITION vs Lower Trims

The Black Edition elevates the Land Cruiser beyond the standard GXR and VXR trims with exclusive dark-themed styling, including blacked-out alloy wheels, grille, and trim accents. Inside, it typically includes premium leather and the full suite of technology that GCC buyers prioritize, such as the largest available infotainment screen and ventilated seating. It combines the rugged hardware of the off-road models with a more aggressive, urban-focused aesthetic.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser dominates its primary rival, the Nissan Patrol, through its superior resale value and the efficiency of its 3.5L twin-turbo powertrain. While rivals like the Land Rover Defender offer high tech, the Toyota leads with an unrivaled service network that spans every corner of the GCC, from remote desert towns to major cities. Its 110-litre fuel capacity is specifically designed for the long-distance cross-border drives common in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota maintains the strongest value retention in the GCC used market, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually compared to 15%+ for European competitors. Fuel consumption is optimized for long highway cruises, though the twin-turbo setup remains thirsty in stop-start city traffic typical of Dubai or Riyadh. Service centers are available in every major GCC city, ensuring parts are always accessible and maintenance costs remain predictable over the long term.

Performance & Capability

The 409 hp twin-turbo V6 delivers 650 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.8 seconds—remarkably agile for a 7-seat SUV. Its 235 mm ground clearance and sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select system make it as capable in the Liwa dunes as it is comfortable on the E11 highway. The 10-speed automatic transmission is geared to provide effortless overtaking power at high speeds while maintaining cabin hush.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for the extreme heat of the Gulf, the cabin features a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows and ventilated front seats as standard. The 7-seat layout is genuinely usable for families, with the third row folding flat to reveal significant cargo space for weekend expeditions. Acoustic glass and improved insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary even during high-speed desert winds.

Safety

The 2025 model comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Trace Assist, which are invaluable for long desert highway drives. A 360-degree camera system is standard, providing essential visibility when navigating tight urban parking or technical off-road obstacles. Multiple airbags and a high-strength body-on-frame construction provide the highest levels of passive safety for family travel.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a flagship SUV that is virtually new, this Black Edition Land Cruiser offers the perfect balance of legendary durability and modern performance.
