Summary

This 2025 Prado GXR represents a significant generational leap, moving to a modern 2.4L turbocharged powertrain that delivers a much-needed punch for highway overtaking while maintaining Toyota's legendary durability. With mileage significantly below the GCC annual average for an SUV, this white example is in its prime and holds the highest resale potential in the regional market. The GXR trim strikes the perfect balance for the Gulf, offering essential luxury upgrades like ventilated seating and a large 12.3-inch display without the steep price tag of the top-tier trims. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer heat and long-distance desert traverses with a reinforced cooling system and high-capacity fuel tank. This is the definitive choice for a buyer who needs a reliable family workhorse that is equally at home in city traffic or on a weekend trip to the dunes.

This Car vs Other 2025 Prados

With just over 19,000 km, this vehicle has seen roughly half the typical annual mileage expected for an SUV in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection during summer and the strongest possible residual value. Choosing a slightly used 2025 model allows you to bypass the initial depreciation while securing a mechanically fresh vehicle that remains under factory warranty.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR provides a substantial upgrade over the base TXR, most notably replacing the basic 8-inch screen with a high-definition 12.3-inch infotainment system. Crucially for the GCC climate, this trim adds ventilated front seats and synthetic leather upholstery, which are far more practical for high-temperature summers than the base fabric. It also increases safety to eight airbags and adds convenience features like a powered tailgate and a sunroof.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado continues to lead rivals like the Mitsubishi Montero Sport and Ford Everest in long-range touring capability thanks to its massive 110-litre fuel tank. While competitors may offer more tech-focused interiors, the Prado’s body-on-frame construction and Toyota’s unmatched parts availability across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman make it the superior choice for remote travel. Its resale value remains the benchmark for the mid-size SUV segment in the Middle East.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota parts and service centers are the most accessible in the GCC, keeping maintenance simple and affordable. The 2.4L turbo engine is designed for long-term reliability and operates efficiently on standard local fuel grades. Historically, the Prado retains approximately 70-75% of its value after three years in the GCC, depreciating significantly slower than European or American competitors. Regular 10,000 km service intervals ensure the vehicle stays in peak condition for the region's demanding driving environment.

Performance & Capability

The new 2.4L turbocharged engine produces 267 hp and a robust 430 Nm of torque, providing effortless acceleration for Dubai’s fast-moving highways. This generation features a permanent four-wheel-drive system with a central differential lock and a low-range transfer case, making it a genuine desert-capable SUV. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, whether you are crawling through sand or cruising between Emirates at 140 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

Configured as a 7-seater, the cabin is designed for family logistics with dedicated rear AC vents to ensure all passengers stay cool in 45°C temperatures. The GXR trim includes a cooled centre console box, perfect for keeping drinks cold during long desert drives. Acoustic glass and improved insulation significantly reduce wind and road noise compared to the previous generation, creating a refined environment for daily commuting.

Safety

This GXR comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including eight airbags and Toyota Safety Sense radar systems. Features such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert are particularly useful for maintaining safety on long, straight stretches of desert highway. Front and rear parking sensors combined with a high-resolution rear-view camera make maneuvering this large SUV into tight city spaces effortless.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking the latest generation of a legend with low mileage and the best resale color, this 2025 GXR is the smartest way to secure a near-new Prado today.
