Summary

This latest generation represents a massive leap forward for the most dependable name in the GCC SUV market. As an all-new 2025 model, it brings modern turbocharged power and a rugged retro-inspired design that has already sparked incredible demand across the region. The VXR trim is the sweet spot for buyers who want the legendary off-road hardware of a Toyota matched with premium interior comforts that make urban commuting in Dubai or Riyadh effortless. In the Gulf, the Prado has historically been the gold standard for resale value, often holding its price better than almost any other vehicle on the road. This specific example, being the range-topping VXR in a versatile Grey finish, perfectly balances understated style with high market desirability. Choosing this GCC-spec model ensures you have the optimized cooling systems and full regional warranty support required for our extreme climate. For the serious buyer, this is an opportunity to own a next-generation icon that is as comfortable on a weekend desert excursion as it is at a valet stand.

This Car vs Other 2025 Prados

Being a 2025 model, this vehicle is part of the highly anticipated first wave of the redesigned series, meaning it features the latest electronic architecture and chassis improvements not found in previous years. In the GCC used market, 2025 models currently command a premium due to high demand and waiting lists at many dealerships. While most vehicles of this age appearing on the market are low-mileage examples, this particular listing stands out for its pristine condition and immediate availability. The Grey exterior is a highly strategic choice for the UAE and Saudi markets, as it hides desert dust remarkably well during summer months while maintaining a much higher resale value than more niche colors. Compared to other listings that may be base trims or imports, this GCC-spec VXR offers the peace of mind of a vehicle designed specifically for 50-degree Celsius summers and high-speed highway cruising between emirates. Buyers will find that the new 2.4L turbocharged powertrain in this 2025 unit provides significantly more low-end torque than the older naturally aspirated engines found in previous generations.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR designation elevates the ownership experience from a rugged utility vehicle to a genuine luxury SUV. While lower trims focus on basic functionality, the VXR adds critical features that GCC buyers value most, such as the advanced 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor which is essential for navigating tight parking spots in modern malls. It also includes upgraded interior materials, often featuring premium leather-accented seating and a larger, more intuitive infotainment display that supports wireless smartphone integration. One of the most significant upgrades in the VXR is the enhanced climate control system, which often features multi-zone regulation to ensure that passengers in all three rows remain cool during peak summer heat. You also benefit from advanced sound insulation and a premium audio system that noticeably reduces road noise during long highway hauls. Visually, the VXR is distinguished by its more aggressive wheel designs and unique trim accents, signaling its status as the flagship specification in the lineup.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado continues to lead its segment by offering a unique blend of heavy-duty reliability that rivals like the Ford Explorer or Honda Pilot cannot match in true off-road environments. While those competitors often use car-based unibody platforms, the Prado retains a rugged body-on-frame construction that is far more durable for desert driving and frequent gravel road use typical in parts of the GCC. Compared to the Land Rover Defender, this model offers significantly lower long-term maintenance costs and a much more widespread service network across all seven emirates and neighboring countries. The Prado also leads in terms of intuitive ergonomics; every button and dial is designed to be operated even while wearing gloves or driving over rough terrain. Its cooling system is widely regarded as the best in class, specifically engineered to maintain peak performance even when the outside temperature exceeds 45 degrees. Furthermore, the 7-seat configuration is more practical for GCC families than many mid-sized rivals, offering better accessibility to the third row.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a Toyota in the GCC is widely considered the smartest financial move an automotive buyer can make. This model benefits from the most extensive service network in the region, with authorized centers in every major city from Abu Dhabi to Muscat, ensuring that parts are always available and affordable. The new 2.4L turbocharged engine is designed to balance power with better fuel efficiency than the outgoing V6, making it more economical for daily commutes and long-distance travel across the Saudi border. Historical data suggests that a GCC-spec Prado will retain approximately 85-90% of its value after the first year, a figure that is virtually unmatched by European or American competitors. Maintenance intervals are predictable, usually occurring every 10,000 km, and the cost of these services is significantly lower than premium brands. Because this is a petrol-powered GCC model, it is perfectly tuned for the local fuel grades available at ADNOC and ENOC stations, avoiding the sensitivity issues sometimes found in non-regional imports.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood, the 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers a punchy and responsive driving experience that belies its size. It provides ample power for overtaking on the E11 highway while offering the low-end grunt required for climbing sand dunes during weekend adventures. The automatic transmission is calibrated for smooth shifts in stop-and-go city traffic, yet it remains decisive when you need to put the power down. This VXR is equipped with a genuine permanent four-wheel-drive system and a low-range transfer case, making it a formidable off-roader straight from the showroom floor. With generous ground clearance and optimized approach and departure angles, it can handle terrain that would stop most other SUVs in their tracks. Whether you are towing a jet ski to the coast or navigating a rocky wadi, the suspension provides a composed ride that filters out imperfections without feeling disconnected. The steering is light enough for easy city maneuvering but weights up nicely at higher speeds for confident highway stability.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the 2025 VXR is a masterclass in functional luxury, designed to accommodate seven passengers in complete comfort. The seating layout is highly flexible, with second-row seats that slide and recline, while the third row can be easily stowed to create a massive cargo area for family road trips. High-quality materials are used throughout the cabin, with soft-touch surfaces and durable finishes that are built to withstand the rigors of family life and the harsh GCC sun. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, featuring dedicated vents for rear passengers to ensure uniform cooling throughout the large cabin. Innovative storage solutions are scattered throughout, including a cooled center console box which is an absolute necessity for keeping drinks cold during long summer drives. Technology is at the forefront, with a high-resolution touchscreen, multiple USB-C charging ports for every passenger, and a quiet cabin environment thanks to enhanced acoustic glass and sound dampening.

Safety

Safety is a paramount concern for GCC families, and the VXR trim leaves nothing to chance with its comprehensive suite of active safety technologies. It comes standard with the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense, which includes Pre-Collision Systems and Lane Departure Alert to help prevent accidents before they occur. For the long, multi-lane highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring are indispensable tools that reduce driver fatigue and enhance awareness. The vehicle is also equipped with a robust array of seven airbags and a reinforced cabin structure designed to provide maximum protection in the event of an impact. Stability control and specialized traction modes ensure that the car remains planted even on slippery desert sands or during unexpected rainstorms. The 360-degree camera system not only helps with parking but also acts as an off-road monitor, allowing the driver to see obstacles directly in front of the wheels when navigating tricky terrain.

The bottom line

This 2025 VXR is the perfect vehicle for the GCC resident who demands zero compromise between daily luxury and absolute off-road readiness. It represents a secure investment in a brand-new model year that will remain at the top of the resale charts for the next decade.
