Summary

This 2026 BYD Leopard 5 Ultra is a premier choice for UAE buyers seeking the perfect balance of supercar-level acceleration and genuine desert capability. As a brand-new vehicle with delivery mileage, it offers a significant time advantage over waiting for custom imports while featuring the highly sought-after Peak Grey exterior, a top-tier resale color in the GCC. The Ultra trim stands out with the advanced DiSus-P hydraulic body control system, transforming it from a refined city cruiser into a high-clearance off-roader at the touch of a button. For the GCC owner, this PHEV setup provides an ideal solution: emissions-free daily commuting in Dubai traffic paired with a massive 1,200 km total range for cross-country desert expeditions. This listing represents a turn-key opportunity to own BYD’s most technologically advanced off-roader currently available in the region.

This Car vs Other 2026 Leopard 5s

With essentially zero kilometers on the odometer, this vehicle sits at the very top of the used market for its model year, offering the same mechanical integrity as a fresh factory delivery. The Grey exterior is a high-liquidity choice in the UAE, holding its value significantly better than more niche launch colors like Jungle Green. While many 2026 models are currently entering the market via various import channels, this specific unit represents the highest-specification Ultra trim, which is the most desirable variant for long-term GCC resale.

ULTRA vs Lower Trims

The Ultra trim is a substantial step up from the Standard and Premium variants, most notably adding the DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic suspension which allows the ride height to reach 310 mm. Inside, the Ultra replaces standard upholstery with full Nappa leather and adds seat massagers, which are paired with front-row ventilation—a non-negotiable feature for GCC summer comfort. Technology is also upgraded to include the full 18-speaker Devialet audio system and a dedicated 360-degree transparent chassis camera for technical off-roading.

Leopard 5 vs Segment Rivals

The Leopard 5 competes directly with the GWM Tank 500 and the Land Rover Defender PHEV, leading the segment with a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds. Its 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with dual motors offers a 1,200 km CLTC range, significantly outperforming traditional V6 off-roaders in fuel efficiency during long highway drives across the Emirates. Furthermore, its body-on-frame construction provides a level of durability for weekend dune bashing that many road-biased luxury crossovers cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low for a vehicle with 680 hp, thanks to a combined fuel consumption rating of just 1.8 L/100km under optimal hybrid operation. While this is a Chinese-spec vehicle using a GB/T charging port, adapters are widely available for UAE public infrastructure, and most owners find the 125 km electric range sufficient for petrol-free daily use. As a new entrant in the GCC, depreciation is expected to follow the pattern of premium Chinese brands, retaining roughly 80-82% of its value after three years, particularly in this high-demand Ultra trim.

Performance & Capability

The DMO super-hybrid platform delivers a combined 680 hp and 760 Nm of torque, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. Off-road, the vehicle features three electronic differential locks and a specialized 4L mode, supported by the DiSus-P suspension which can raise the body to clear significant obstacles. The 700 mm wading depth and multiple terrain modes—including Sand and Rock—ensure it is fully equipped for the diverse landscapes of the Hajar Mountains or the Liwa dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a tech-forward sanctuary featuring a triple-screen layout, including a 15.6-inch central display and a dedicated passenger entertainment screen. For the desert climate, the Ultra trim includes a compressor-based refrigerator that can both cool and warm, alongside a powerful dual-zone AC system with rear vents. The 18-speaker Devialet sound system includes headrest speakers, ensuring a premium audio experience that remains crisp even at highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with an ultra-high-strength cage body and 11 airbags standard on the Ultra trim. The vehicle is equipped with the DiPilot ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic emergency braking, all of which are invaluable for long desert highway transits. Unique safety features like the transparent chassis view allow the driver to see directly beneath the vehicle, preventing damage when navigating sharp rocks or hidden obstacles off-road.

The bottom line

This Leopard 5 Ultra is the ideal acquisition for the tech-savvy adventurer who wants supercar performance and rugged durability without the high fuel costs of a traditional V8. It is a rare chance to skip the import queue and secure the highest-spec version of BYD's breakthrough off-roader in the region's most popular color.
