Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace DX represents the latest iteration of the region's most trusted commercial workhorse, arriving in the highly desirable White exterior that ensures peak resale strength in the GCC. With a Vehicle Age of 0 years, this manual diesel variant is mechanically primed for the heavy-duty cycles typical of UAE shuttle and logistics operations. The 2.8L turbo diesel engine is the preferred choice for those prioritizing low-end pulling power and long-distance fuel efficiency over its petrol counterparts. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a factory-upgraded cooling system designed to withstand extreme summer temperatures without compromising reliability. For business owners, the combination of Toyota's legendary durability and the ease of manual gear control makes this an unbeatable asset for minimizing long-term downtime.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiaces

As a brand-new vehicle with 0 years of age, this Hiace offers a full service life ahead of it, a significant advantage in a market where shuttle vans often accumulate high highway mileage quickly. The choice of a manual transmission provides superior control for heavy loading, avoiding the heat-related wear sometimes seen in high-use automatic gearboxes. Its White finish is the gold standard for GCC commercial vehicles, offering the best heat reflection and highest demand in the secondary market.

DX vs Lower Trims

The DX trim serves as the strategic sweet spot, adding essential comfort features like front and rear air conditioning with dedicated ceiling vents which are often absent on base cargo variants. It also includes upgraded durable fabric upholstery designed for heavy daily use and power windows for the front occupants. These additions make the DX significantly more viable for passenger transport and employee shuttling compared to the stripped-out panel van versions.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Hiace continues to lead the segment against rivals like the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai Staria through its superior parts availability and authorized service footprint across all seven Emirates. While the Staria offers a more futuristic design, the Hiace provides a higher payload capacity of up to 1,200 kg and a more rugged rear-wheel-drive layout suited for consistent heavy-duty work. Its 70-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops during cross-country trips from Dubai to Muscat or Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.8L diesel engine averages approximately 8.3L/100km, offering a clear efficiency lead over petrol rivals in GCC highway driving. Toyota maintains one of the strongest value retention rates in the UAE, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually compared to the 15% seen in European van segments. Authorized service centers are ubiquitous across the GCC, ensuring that maintenance remains affordable and parts are never more than a few hours away.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 420 Nm of torque available from just 1,400 RPM, providing effortless acceleration even when the 9+ seats are fully occupied. This torque-rich delivery is paired with a reinforced suspension system specifically tuned to handle the variable road surfaces found across the region. The manual 6-speed transmission allows the driver to keep the engine in its most efficient power band, ideal for highway overtaking and navigating steep grades with a full load.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the DX configuration prioritizes passenger thermal comfort with a dual-zone cooling system that ensures high-volume airflow reaches the rear-most rows even in 45°C heat. The cabin is lined with easy-to-clean, heat-resistant materials that prevent the interior from becoming brittle under the intense Arabian sun. Generous headroom and a wide aisle make frequent boarding and exiting comfortable for passengers in shuttle or tourism roles.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GCC-spec DX includes an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), which are critical for maintaining traction on sandy or rain-slicked roads. The van is equipped with dual SRS airbags for the front cabin and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. A Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Hill-Start Assist Control are also standard, providing peace of mind for drivers handling heavy loads on the UAE's fast-moving multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

This brand-new 2026 Hiace DX is the definitive choice for a GCC fleet operator or business owner looking for a reliable, high-torque diesel passenger mover with the region's best resale profile.
