Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace GL represents a strategic acquisition for high-capacity passenger logistics, entering the market as a fresh model year with zero wear. Its naturally aspirated V6 delivers smooth, reliable power that is highly preferred over smaller engines for heavy-load highway cruising in the heat. Finished in white, it occupies the strongest resale position in the GCC market while offering superior thermal rejection. The GL trim provides a significant comfort step up for professional transport, ensuring high occupancy does not sacrifice passenger experience. As the definitive workhorse for the region, it benefits from the most accessible parts and service ecosystem in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiaces

With a Vehicle Age of 0 years and zero specified mileage, this Hiace offers a brand-new mechanical lifecycle, which is a major advantage in a segment where vehicles often accumulate 50,000 km annually. In the GCC market, the white exterior is the gold standard for resale value and cabin cooling. Choosing a fresh model year ensures maximum longevity for commercial licensing and fleet rotation.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim elevates the passenger experience beyond the base Commuter by adding a high-roof design for superior headroom and a more refined cabin finish. Key upgrades often include a touchscreen display with smartphone integration, a rear-view camera for safer maneuvering, and enhanced fabric upholstery. These features directly impact daily driver fatigue and passenger satisfaction, making it the preferred choice for hotel shuttles and VIP transfers.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Urvan or Hyundai Staria, the Hiace leads with its legendary durability and the sheer scale of the Toyota service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The 3.5L V6 provides a power advantage over the Urvan's 2.5L engine, making it more capable during high-speed highway overtakes with a full load. Its high-roof configuration also offers a more open, airy cabin environment than several flatter-roofed competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 typically averages around 12–14 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though highway cruising at steady speeds can see figures as low as 10 L/100km. Being a GCC-spec Toyota, it commands the highest value retention in its class, often retaining significantly more of its original price after three years compared to European alternatives. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, supported by authorized centers in every major GCC city.

Performance & Capability

The 277 hp V6 petrol engine is engineered for mechanical simplicity and sustained performance in extreme ambient temperatures. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it manages heavy passenger loads effortlessly, reaching a top speed of approximately 160 km/h. The rear-wheel-drive layout provides the necessary traction and stability for long-distance hauls between emirates, even when the 70-liter fuel tank is full and the cabin is at maximum capacity.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is purpose-built for group transport, featuring a 9+ seat layout with dedicated rear ceiling vents to combat the GCC summer heat. The high-roof design allows for easy walk-through access, while the dual air conditioning system ensures even cooling for all rows. Technology highlights include a central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making navigation through busy city hubs like Dubai or Riyadh seamless for the driver.

Safety

Safety is managed through a comprehensive suite including dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). The inclusion of a rear-view camera is particularly beneficial for a vehicle of this size in tight urban loading zones. Additionally, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) provide essential peace of mind for commercial operators and family users alike.

The bottom line

This 2026 Hiace GL is the ideal choice for a fleet manager or professional operator seeking the most reliable high-capacity bus with maximum resale security in the GCC. It offers a rare opportunity to secure a brand-new, high-spec V6 model that is ready for immediate deployment.
