Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace GL represents the gold standard for passenger transport in the GCC, offering a virtually brand-new opportunity for fleet operators and large families. Finished in high-resale White, this GCC-spec model is specifically engineered to handle the extreme ambient temperatures of the region with an upgraded cooling system. The 3.5L V6 powertrain provides a significant performance advantage over standard four-cylinder vans, ensuring effortless highway cruising even under full occupancy. With its reputation for legendary durability and a massive local service network, this Hiace is the most practical choice for those prioritizing long-term value and reliability. It stands out as a versatile workhorse that balances passenger comfort with industrial-grade mechanical strength.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiaces

As a 2026 model, this Hiace offers the latest safety and tech refinements in a nearly new condition. In the GCC, where commercial vans are often subjected to heavy mileage, finding a current-year example like this provides a significant mechanical advantage and longer remaining service life. The White exterior is the most sought-after color in the region for its heat-reflecting properties and superior resale value.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim adds critical passenger-focused features over the base Commuter and Panel Van models, including a more refined interior finish and better cabin insulation. Crucially for GCC buyers, it features independent front and rear air conditioning controls, ensuring all rows stay cool during summer. It also upgrades the tech suite with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Hiace consistently leads rivals like the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai Staria in terms of residual value and ease of maintenance across the Middle East. Its 3.5L V6 engine offers more robust overtaking power for highway routes compared to the smaller displacements often found in competitors. Furthermore, the sheer density of Toyota service centers from Dubai to Riyadh makes it the undisputed leader for logistics and tourism operations.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 is approximately 11.5 L/100km, a competitive figure for a large-capacity petrol bus. Being a GCC-spec Toyota, it benefits from the highest possible resale retention in the used market, typically outperforming European and American rivals by a wide margin. Service intervals are standardized at 5,000 km or 10,000 km, with parts available in almost every major city across the UAE and KSA.

Performance & Capability

The 277 hp V6 engine delivers a smooth, torque-rich experience that makes the Hiace feel much lighter than its size suggests. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for comfort and durability, reducing driver fatigue during long cross-emirate trips. Its rear-wheel-drive layout provides a tight turning circle, making this large bus surprisingly manageable in congested urban areas and hotel drop-off zones.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured for 13 passengers, utilizing high-quality, easy-to-clean fabric upholstery designed for heavy use. Dual-zone climate control with dedicated vents for every row is standard, providing the high-output cooling necessary for the Arabian climate. Large sliding doors and well-placed grab handles ensure easy entry and exit for passengers of all ages during frequent stops.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of active systems including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist. The GL trim includes a standard rear-view camera and parking sensors, which are essential for maneuvering a high-roof bus safely. Dual front airbags, ISOFIX anchors, and a reinforced body structure provide peace of mind for both commercial operators and private users.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking the most reliable high-capacity transport with the strongest resale potential in the market, this 2026 Hiace GL is the definitive choice.
