• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace DX is the definitive choice for high-capacity transport, offering the reliability that has made it a staple across UAE and Saudi Arabian fleets. With its 2.8L turbo diesel engine and manual gearbox, it provides the low-end torque required for heavy passenger loads and long-distance highway hauls. The white exterior is the region's preferred choice for heat reflection and branding, ensuring the highest possible resale demand when it comes time to upgrade. As a brand-new model, it represents a long-term asset with minimal immediate maintenance requirements beyond routine checks. For any GCC business or private operator, this is a low-risk, high-utilization workhorse backed by the region's most robust support network.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiaces

As a brand-new 2026 model, this Hiace offers a significant advantage in longevity and warranty coverage compared to older H300 generation units. While many used vans in the GCC market carry high mileage from heavy commercial use, this unit provides a fresh mechanical start for a new fleet or business venture. The classic white finish remains the strongest resale color in the region, ensuring it holds its value better than silver or darker alternatives.

DX vs Lower Trims

The DX trim serves as the essential professional benchmark, providing the 2.8L diesel engine which offers significantly more torque than the 2.7L petrol base models found in entry-level configurations. Unlike basic panel van variants, this DX bus configuration includes dedicated rear air conditioning vents, a critical feature for passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer months. It balances heavy-duty utility with necessary cabin essentials like a modern infotainment interface and durable fabric seating designed for high-frequency use.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Hiace consistently leads rivals like the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai H1 in terms of regional parts availability and specialized technician support across the GCC. Its rear-wheel-drive architecture and body-on-frame construction provide superior durability on secondary roads compared to more car-based competitors. Additionally, the Toyota's 70-litre fuel tank and diesel efficiency make it better suited for long-distance inter-city routes between Dubai, Riyadh, and Muscat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency for the 2.8L diesel manual typically ranges between 8.5L and 9.5L/100km, offering a substantial cost advantage over petrol equivalents for high-mileage operators. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, though heavy commercial users often opt for 5,000 km oil changes to maximize engine life in extreme desert heat. Toyota’s authorized service network is the most comprehensive in the region, including widespread coverage in Saudi Arabia and Oman, ensuring minimal downtime. The Hiace maintains one of the lowest annual depreciation rates in the GCC commercial segment.

Performance & Capability

The 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine produces 174 hp, but its most important figure is the 420 Nm of torque available from as low as 1,400 RPM. This low-end power is essential for smooth standing starts when the vehicle is at its full 9+ passenger capacity. The 6-speed manual transmission gives the driver total control over power delivery, which is particularly useful when navigating varied terrain or heavy traffic. With a turning radius of approximately 5.5 meters, it remains surprisingly maneuverable for a vehicle of its size in urban environments.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Hiace is designed for maximum utility and passenger endurance, featuring a 9+ seat layout with easy-to-clean materials that stand up to daily commercial wear. The high-performance GCC-spec air conditioning system is engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even when external heat exceeds 45°C. Ample headroom and dedicated cooling vents for rear rows ensure that all passengers remain comfortable during long highway transfers. The driver’s cockpit is ergonomically arranged to reduce fatigue during extended shifts, featuring clear visibility and intuitive controls.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), which are vital for maintaining traction on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. The vehicle is equipped with dual front airbags and three-point seatbelts for occupants, meeting essential safety requirements for commercial passenger transport. Rear parking sensors are standard to assist in maneuvering this large bus in tight urban loading zones and parking areas.

The bottom line

For a fleet operator or transport business looking for a zero-mile, GCC-ready workhorse, this 2026 Hiace DX Diesel offers the perfect combination of high torque, superior cooling, and the region's best resale value.
