2017 Renault Megane Sedan revealed

Over the years, Renault Megane’s have only been available in two body styles: hatchback and station wagon. Bring on the 2017 model, and the French manufacturer is ready to expand the selection to three models and now includes a sedan.

With traditional Renault styling up front, xenon headlights paired with LED’s are optional extras which resemble those found on a Volkswagen until you notice the extra underneath. LED rear lights fuse together at the rear upon meeting the Renault logo offering a unique look.

508 litres is the capacity of the boot which enough to hold 338 bottles of 1.5-litre Masafi water. No that may seem like a hard task to load into the boot as you have no hands free. Renault has thought of that and added a hands-free Easy Trunk access system.

Inside, a seven-inch display replaces analogue dashboard instruments for better accuracy and for the centre console, an 8.7-inch display is used for infotainment purposes. Safety features from both continuing models are part of the complete package in sedan versions.

2017 Renault Megane sedans will hit more than 20 markets across the globe including the GCC and the rest of the MENA region. No price bracket has been offically announced. In other regions, this model is known as Grand Coupe.

Two petrol engines are on offer; one naturally aspirated powerplant hooked up to a CVT or five-speed manual gearbox and the other is a turbocharged version hooked up to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch EDC transmission. No word on displacement, horsepower or top speed is known. In certain regions, three diesel powered units are said to be available.
