Bentley Bentayga’s are by far the ultimate SUV to own regarding power. However, if you have more than five members in your family, you would have to buy another. Forget about that and wait it out for the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT.
Each cabin of the 2018 Durango SRT bares a set of front cooled seats, flat-bottomed SRT sports steering wheel, customisable dashboard and an 8.4-inch media display with UConnet functionality, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
No there isn’t a 707 horsepower V8 hiding underneath the bonnet as some may be desperately anticipating. Instead, it has a mighty V8 rated at a 475 horsepower enabling the “family” vehicle to run 0-100 km/h in a mere 4.6 seconds.
The engine has a flood of new components including an upgraded cold air filter to keep the engine at a steady temperature. Whereas the eight-speed auto gearbox controlling all four wheels has been redesigned to fit the model.
2018 Dodge Durango SRT models are fully equipped with drive mode selector that now includes Sport and Track options. Equipping Sport mode shortens shift times by up to 50 percent and 65 percent more torque to the rear wheels. Switching to track mode, 70 percent of the torque is channelled backwards whereas shift times drop to just 160 milliseconds.
To cope with the increased power, Bilstein adaptive suspension has been added to each corner with stiffer springs attached as well. Six-piston Brembo brake calipers hide behind front rims with four-piston ones bolted to the rear.
2018 models are available in a variety of colours including Vice White, Ocean Blue Clear Coat Sangria Metalica Clear Coat just to name a few.
