2018 GMC Acadia gets All-Terrain trim with distinct features

GMC is upgrading the Acadia lineup with a new trim level for the 2018 GMC Acadia. The All-Terrain trim offers customers a choice of five or seven-seater arrangments or a more luxurious six-seater setup.

All-Terrain trims stick out thanks to a body-colour grille surround, bespoke alloys and dark tinted chrome trim. While the entire lineup is equipped with a drive mode selector drivers can alter the powertrain and chassis to adapt to the terrain. All-Terrain variants are equipped with a unique offroad mode that works in conjunction with the standard AWD system and hill-climb assist.

2018 GMC Acadia models come with a number of new features including a Rear Seat Alert which alerts the driver when an item may have been left in the rear seats and a tyre fill alert which is standard across all models. This system audibly alerts drivers when inflating the tyres. Other notable features include Smart Slide that allows a split folding second-row seat.

A long list of active safety features are on offer the ensure the safety of drivers and occupants in case of a potential collision while also relaying real-time information of the surroundings. The list includes front and rear parking assist, lane keep assist, surround vision camera, front pedestrian braking and lane change alert.

What drives the 2018 GMC Acadia lineup

The 2018 GMC Acadia is fitted with a powerful and efficient 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine good for 310 horsepower. Available with all-wheel-drive with Active Twin Clutch or front-wheel-drive, the 2018 model features variable valve timing, Active Fuel Mangement (Cylinder Deactivation), direct injection, a six-speed automatic gearbox and an electronically drive mode selector.
