2018 Kia Picanto rocks up with larger interior

2017 Nissan Micra BOSE editions are not the only compact hatchback to catch a glimpse of in Switzerland. The 2018 Kia Picanto is also on show with sharper looks and larger dimensions inside.

It’s not just a pretty face anymore, the 2018 Picanto measures in 15mm longer than the previous model allowing for increased cabin space compared to its rivals. And that’s not all; boot capacity also measures in larger than others will the brand has also added better sound proofing qualities to provide a quieter ride.

Inside, the compact hatchback is a 7-inch touchscreen centrally mounted for a crisper media experience. Higher grade materials cover the seats, dashboard and door panels of the 2018 Kia Picanto with the South Korean brand offering customers five colour-packs.

It’s not only visual and comfort enhancements as the South Korean brand has bolted a stronger shell atop the vehicle chassis as well as Autonomous Emergency Braking, a first in its class.

Upon launch, the 2018 Kia Picanto will receive a new 1-litre turbocharged petrol motor. Rated at a respectable 99 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque which makes its debut in top tier GT-Line model.

The naturally aspirated 1-litre and 1.25-litre petrol engines return with 66 and 83 horsepower respectively. Front wheel drive is standard across the board with the five-speed manual box also standard with the four-speed automatic being available as an extra.

Kia has yet to announce any prices or release info for the 2018 Kia Picanto, until then, we’ve got plenty of new Kia Picanto and used Kia Picanto for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
