2018 Mustang GT launches to 60 MPH in less than 4 seconds

What vehicles can you name that launch to 60 MPH in less than four seconds? Corvette Stingray, Dodge Viper, Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes S63 Coupe and many others. Now you can add the 2018 Mustang GT to the list.

Ford’s latest iteration of the Mustang features a new mode on the drive mode selector bringing the total up to five. Drag-strip mode as it is known as allows the American beast to launch to 60 MPH in under four seconds.

When activated, this new mode provides maximum acceleration and performance in a straight line allowing the enhanced Mustang to sprint faster.

Regarding enhancements, 2018 Mustang GT models pack an extra 25 horsepower bring the total output to 460 horses. Not only is it more powerful, fuel economy figures increase.

Fans of the 2.3-litre EcoBoost model also benefit from drag-strip mode along with the 10-speed automatic gearbox with the Performance Package equipped. Although the vehicle will be slower (under 5 seconds) in a straight line, it still packs 310 horsepower.

2018 Mustang GT and the rest of the lineup will go on sale later this year in the States and will likely go on sale in other markets shortly afterwards or early 2018.
