2019 Audi RS5 Sportback unleashed

Lining up alongside the Coupe variant revealed early this year, the 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback is not your everyday family saloon car. No, far from it. This is a menacing beast with a loud paint job, sloping roofline and muscular line that would gobble your Lexus up for dinner.

With a larger mesh grille compared to the S5, the model is also fitted with larger air intakes, larger alloys, enlarged fenders and rear diffuser and two massive exhaust pipes sticking out of the rear complete its aggressive nature.

Compared to the RS5 Coupe, the 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback sits seven millimetres closer to the ground and 15 mm wider. It is also fitted with fixed sports suspension and can be had with active dampers as an optional extra.

Inside, the German saloon gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard along with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit display as well as all of the luxurious properties we’re used to seeing in Audi’s.

What drives the 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback?

Underneath its tough exterior is a 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine pushing out 444 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and fitted with Audi’s token Quattro system, the sleek saloon launches from standstill to 100 km/h in a brisk 4.4 seconds.

Don’t expect to see these all over the place in the region as the RS models are usually special orders.

Dubicars.com has new Audi and used Audi for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi.
