2019 Suzuki Jimny leaks online

No, you’re not looking at a squashed G-Wagen, shrunken Wrangler or Defender, this is in fact leaked images of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny.

Another box that has been knocking around for decades, the model receives smoother lines in order to keep the iconic styling still recognizable. A slim front grille features round headlights instead of the current square units with a refreshed lower half flanked by round fog lights.

Die-hard fans may notice the windows are redesigned with rear ones squarer than current models and front windows sporting a small kink.

Around the back, lights move from the vehicle’s body down to the rear bumper allowing for a square rear window. A rear mounted spare tyre is here to stay.

Inside, the cabin is spruced up with a touchscreen multimedia system, updated air conditioning controls, a selection of buttons, revised steering wheel and other fresh styling cues.

The model will utilise a ladder frame and their in-house AllGrip Pro all-wheel-drive system to combat rough terrain. Engines remain a mystery, although persistent rumours point to a 1-litre 110 horsepower engine borrowed from the Baleno powering each corner.

Images show off an automatic transmission. We can’t dismiss Suzuki’s refreshed Jimny to be available with a manual gearbox.

2019 Suzuki Jimny debut

Expect the model to make its grand debut later this year at the Tokyo Motor Show and will most likely go on sale in 2018. Fingers crossed more than one engine will be revealed.

Dubicars.com has new Suzuki Jimny and used Suzuki Jimny for sale in Dubai.
