2019 Toyota Corolla spied

Four years ago, Toyota updated the Corolla model that gave the model a new lease on life. Now that we have our first spy shots of the 2019 Toyota Corolla, it’s all about to change.

Covered from head to toe with only the roof left bare, it’s hard to tell what to expect of the 2019 Toyota Corolla. We do expect the model to feature select styling cues from the Avalon and Camry cars.

Here’s something that may tickle your fancy. With Toyota joining forces with BMW for the next generation Supra and BMW Z5, rumour has it, the 2019 Toyota Corolla could receive a German sourced engine.

This information is backed up by two models which are currently sold in other markets utilising the Germans powertrain. Before you start pondering whether or not this future Corolla will hide a V6 rear wheel drive set up within its lineup. That may be a long shot.

We expect the brands renowned four cylinder front wheel drive setup to stick around. We also expect the automatic gearbox to be updated with the Japanese brand announcing new 8 and 10-speed boxes to replace the current 6-speed and CVT transmissions.

Underneath, the entire body is bolted onto Toyota’s new modulator platform commonly known as TNGA for short or Toyota New Global Architecture

Additionally, Toyota is working on a hatchback version of the Corolla that is destined for the US for the time being.

Toyota has yet to release any pricing information and when the 2019 Toyota Corolla will launch. Late 2018 or early 2019 is plausible.
