Now in its third year in the market, the 2020 GMC Acadia will arrive late 2019 with an updated exterior and technology.
New for the mid-cycle refresh is a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with cylinder deactivation. Available alongside the 3.6-litre V6, the latest unit is good for 230 hp and 350 Nm.
Taking over from the six-speed automatic gearbox is a new nine-speed auto transmission. According to GMC, the new gearbox offers increased efficiency and optimised acceleration.
The suspension system has also been updated to improve ride comfort and handling. Models that are fitted with the new engine have a standard eBoost brake system.
But it’s not just a new engine and gearbox.
Externally, the 2020 GMC Acadia sets itself apart from the outgoing model with a new front and rear end. GMC’s signature C-shaped flanks with side of the black chrome-accented grille, custom alloy wheels and side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals complete the package.
Inside, the latest Acadia gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with a higher resolution and improved voice recognition. A wireless charging pad is new too along with two USB-C ports and a high-definition camera.
A heads-up display will also be available at a later date.
The 2020 GMC Acadia will arrive later this year with pricing to be announced closer to the date.
