Abu Dhabi Police announce 50% off abandoned cars fine
Reaching out via social media, the Abu Dhabi Municipality has announced a 50% reduction on fines for owners of abandoned vehicles across the UAE’s capital.
They also announced an extension for owners extracting their vehicles from seven days to 30 days.
Upon the announcement, the Abu Dhabi Municipality stated the initiative is to help people raise their happiness level and customer satisfaction.
In September 2018, Abu Dhabi Authorities seized over 240 vehicles in the Emirate that were deemed abandoned by their owners.
According to the Abu Dhabi Municipality, the vehicles seized in September were a result of an inspection campaign to tackle “disorderly practices constituting eyesores to the appearance of the city”.
