Alpina already working on their version of the 2017 5-Series

Fresh off the presses is the unveiled 2017 5-Series from BMW and before it’s had the chance to roll off the production line, renowned BMW Tuner’s Alpina have already dipped their toes in the water and are piecing together their very own version.

Continuing with the B5 badge, the enhanced sedan has been spotted tackling the Nurburgring in Germany as well as a petrol station. Partially camouflaged and sporting two different sets of rims, Alpina is set to add their own grooves to each side while adding a custom front and rear bumper along with additional exhaust pipes.

Underneath the bonnet is where the magic happens as the German Tuner retains the 4.4-litre V8 from top tier 2017 5-Series and tuning it to pump out a mega 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. These figures are enough to match the new M5.

Alpina is also working on a diesel version which they are dubbing as D5. This version will sport identical exterior stylings but will be powered by a six-cylinder diesel with a rumoured the turbo attached to generate a combined 400 horsepower.

Controlling all that power is an eight-speed Switchtronic gearbox with buttons traditionally placed on the steering wheel.

Inside, expect new and softer materials along with all the standard features of top of the range 2017 5-Series models.
