BMW 8-Series renders leak online before official reveal

Expected to be revealed on the 26th of May, renderings of the BMW 8-Series have found their way online.

Sporting the brand’s iconic double kidney front grille, it certainly does have its own flair. Slimmed down headlights adorn either side of the grille; all while said unit sticks out to give the BMW 8-Series a sharp yet elegant nose.

Complemented by sizable rims on each corner, sloping rear end with a built-in rear spoiler, dual exhaust tips and a rather aggressive looking rear spoiler.

The Bavarian-based brand has tried their best to keep the BMW 8-Series a secret, but that doesn’t stop the rumour mill from churning.

The models are expected to roll on a CLAR platform, and as for the powertrains, a selection of four, six and eight-cylinder motors wouldn’t come as a shock. Nor would a 6.6-litre V12 engine churning out at least 600 horses. As with current BMW’s, rear wheel drive would be standard, with all-wheel drive available optionally.

According to reports earlier in the year, we’re in for a treat as a range of BMW trademarks reveal at least eight BMW 8-Series models. 825, 830, 835, 845, 850, 860, M8 and M850.

Those last two will certainly be models to look out for as we all know how powerful BMW M vehicles are.

As we mentioned at the very beginning, all is to be revealed officially on the 26th of May. That’s just a few hours away until we get our first glimpse of the returning BMW 8-Series.
