BMW announce the arrival of the M2 Competition

Debuting earlier this year, BMW has announced the arrival of the M2 Competition with a refreshed look and plenty of new tech inside and out.

The latest version of the M2 receives a plethora of new equipment including a new dual exhaust system with two electrically-controlled flaps, a new cooling system, new M mirrors, larger redesigned signature double-kidney high-gloss black grille and larger functional air vents in the front bumper.

Customers can now choose two distinct paint finishes for the exterior that are both new for the M2 Competition; Sunset Orange Metallic and Hockenheim Silver Metallic.

Inside, the latest M2 is fitted with a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, carbon fibre trim, red push-start engine button plus a redesigned dashboard cluster with Black panel technology

The optional extras list also grows and now includes M Sport Bucket seats with integrated headrests and illuminated M2 badge and M sport brakes bolted to each corner with grey paint calipers.

Underneath the bonnet is a new six-cylinder petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. With a three-litre displacement, the unit produces 410 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque and channels it to the rear end via either a six-speed manual gearbox or an M DCT (M Double Clutch Transmission).

With that said, the M2 launches from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds (4.4 with the manual gearbox) before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h, 280 km/h with the optional M Driver’s package.

The M2 Competition replaces the M2 coupe and should arrive in the GCC later this year or early 2019.
