BYD Denza N9 Launched: Expected To Arrive In The UAE Soon

The BYD Denza N9, the new flagship plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD, has made its debut in China with a price range of 389,800 to 449,800 yuan (approximately AED 194,000 to AED 224,000). While it is currently available only in China, it could soon make its way to the UAE, where it might launch with a starting price of around AED 200,000.

What Is The Electric Powertrain and Performance?

The Denza N9 is powered by a sophisticated e3 three-electric-motor system, built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, which is part of the brand’s New Electric Vehicle (NEV) range. It features a front AC asynchronous motor delivering 268hp and 315 Nm of torque, while the rear dual motors (left and right) each provide 322hp and 360 Nm of torque. This results in a combined output of 590hp. Additionally, the SUV includes a 2.0T engine generating 204hp and 325 Nm of torque.

It features a 46.9 kWh Blade battery pack, offering a pure electric range of 202 km (CLTC) and a comprehensive range of 1,302 km when combined with the hybrid system. The combined power output allows the Denza N9 to achieve a 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds. Fast charging allows the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes.

Exterior Design

The Denza N9 features a bold and contemporary design with a striking front fascia that includes a large hexagonal grille adorned with chrome accents. The grille seamlessly integrates with sleek, sharp LED headlamps, giving it a sophisticated and aggressive look. The LED daytime running lights (DRLs) are designed to form a unique pattern, adding a premium touch.

The side profile of the Denza N9 showcases clean, aerodynamic lines that flow smoothly from the front to the rear. Chrome accents around the windows and flush door handles enhance the modern aesthetic. The large alloy wheels with multi-spoke design further contribute to its commanding presence on the road.

At the rear, the Denza N9 sports a continuous LED taillight strip that spans the width of the vehicle, giving it a futuristic appearance. The rear bumper features integrated exhaust outlets and a skid plate, emphasising the SUV’s rugged character. Additionally, the roof-mounted spoiler and integrated brake light add a sporty flair.

The Denza N9’s spacious interior follows a practical 6+6+6 layout, designed to accommodate six passengers, six suitcases, and six backpacks. Additionally, it boasts 46 cleverly distributed storage spaces throughout the cabin, providing ample room for personal belongings and travel essentials.

Interior Design

The Denza N9 offers a spacious and refined interior with premium materials throughout the cabin. The seating configuration follows a 2+2+2 layout, accommodating six passengers comfortably. Upholstery options include soft leather in grey and white themes. 

The second-row seats support 14-way electric adjustment and come with small tables, wireless charging, ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The third-row seats offer 6-way electric adjustment and heating. Additionally, the rear section features an 11L refrigerator with both warming and cooling functions.
