Cadillac’s Escala could see the light of day

One of many highlights during last years Dubai International Motor Show was the stunning Cadillac Escala. Stunning from every angle thanks to a muscular profile, slim headlights, hidden door handles and flowing rear end, the original idea for Cadillac was to preview the future of their motor vehicles.

It appears that a model named the Escala will go into production using the CT6 platform in December 2021. As of writing, it’s not known if the vehicle will be a saloon, convertible, crossover, SUV or coupe. Let’s hope it sticks with the four-door saloon body style, and while the interior is nice, we’d prefer it if they don’t use the same material that is used to cover a sofa bed.

What we do know is that the Escala will be built in the same factory as the current CT6, Chevrolet Impala and Bolt and was once home to the Cadillac ELR.

Now if only Cadillac would put the CIEL and ELMIRAJ into production.

Was Dubai the first stop for the Escala?

In short, No.

Almost two years ago in 2016, the Escala concept made its global debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Measuring in at 5,347 millimetres in length, hiding beneath the bonnet was a 4.2-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with an undefined output. However, during the event, Cadillac did mention the engine featured cylinder deactivation technology to keep fuel consumption and emissions as low as possible.

Dubicars.com has new Cadillac and used Cadillac for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi.
