Audi has officially opened up the order books for residents of the UAE and surrounding regions.
What’s so special about the Audi R8 RWS?
For those who may be unaware, RWS stands for Rear Wheel Series, and it will be the first rear-wheel drive Audi has ever built as all models they have built are either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Another unique feature is the Misano Red Audi Sport stripe highlighting the Ibis White or a dark metallic grey exterior.
Exclusively driving the rear wheels is a familiar naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 FSI petrol engine mated at an automatic gearbox with manual shifting modes. Rated at 532 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque, the latest addition to the R8 family sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 319 km/h.
As Audi R8 RWS is exclusively rear-wheel drive, the sports car tips the scales 50 kilos lighter (1,590 kgs in total)compared to the Quattro model as the centre differential and multi-plate clutch are nowhere to be seen.
