Limited Edition Aston Martin V8 Vantage revealed

As we’re all anxiously waiting for the Aston Martin DB11 to arrive, Aston Martin have come up with something to make us forget about it for a brief time. Aston Martin V8 Vantage S models have thundered down our streets for some time, and it’s about time we got a limited edition.

Dubbed “V8 Vantage S Blades Edition” it plays tribute to a high flying acrobatic squad. Coated in matte silver wth orange accents to really stand out, plus a black and white Union Jack. It’s not just a flash paint scheme, the roof is jet black, a new front splitter has been attached, light-weight carbon fibre and a few bits extra. Limited to just five units, this is one desirable Aston.

Aston Martin Vantage S Blades UAEInside, “The Blades” is stitched into both headrests in orange to contrast black leather and more carbon fibre is present to decrease overall weight. Orange certainly stands out, with a stripe running down the middle of each seat, lining them and stretching across the dashboard. There’s even said to be a propeller engraved into dashboard dials. All the same options as in standard V8 Vantage S models are present: Navigation, Bluetooth pairing, fully electric seats.

Aston Martin Vantage S Blades UAEIf you’re lucky enough to get your hands one one of five units available, you’ll receive an invitation to bring along three of your friends to pick up the vehicle from Blades headquarters. Not to sure how it will work if you don’t live in the UK. You’ll also get to ride shotgun in one of the planes and test drive the vehicle on the runway, with a professional driver to ride alongside to help out. Pretty sweet deal right?

Underneath the bonnet no changes have been made, 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine generating a respectable 430 horsepower. 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h sounds good to anyone. Power is sent to the rear wheels via your choice of a manual or automatic gearbox.

One unit costs £119,950 (approx. AED 630,020).

All of this kind of sounds familiar no? Seems British manufacturers really like paying homage to high flying machines. Bentley has done the same in the past with their Bentley Continental GT Speed – Breitling Jet Team Series.

On an Aston Martin related side note, remember the Aston Martin DB10 in the new James Bond film Spectre? And remember that not a single one will be available for anyone to buy? That’s not the case anymore. You can actually buy one, it’s not street legal, however, it does have an engine you just can’t use that engine, just stare at it every now and then.

Currently available through Aston Martin Cambridge only, and as mentioned before it’s a limited production. Apparently there is only one left for sale, the other four are reportedly sold. Better hurry up and give the dealership a ring if you want the last unit.
