Last week, we got word that due to Aston Martin’s GT12 popularity with racing enthusiasts who wanted a little bit of race craft in their road car, that the British Manufacturer would make another version with a smaller engine and more build slots. There was one thing missing, though; there were no pictures just a sketch of its lines.

After a week of anticipation, Aston Martin dropped the ball and released a ton of pictures for us and all of you to drool over and it looks real good! In case you missed it, before Aston Martin released the images, a single sketch was given to potential and loyal customers which also made it’s way onto the internet.

Three colour palettes are available; China Grey and Blue, Stirling Green and Lime and Stratus White and Green.

Are all the aero tweaks a bit much for you, you can ask Aston Martin to tone your one down just a bit but why would you want to do that, it’s crazy! Just get yourself a standard V8 Vantage instead.

For those who are unaware of where the styling is credited from, Aston Martin run a very successful racing programme around the world and the GT8 is pretty much spot on with its racing counterpart. Parking them side by side, it’s quite hard to tell the difference which is which. Aside from all the stickers, GT8 models ride higher, have a smaller spoiler and diffuser.

With its race car looks, you’d be surprised to find that inside the British sports car is air conditioning, Aston’s latest infotainment system and a 160 kw sound system. To clarify, no race car has any of that, maybe some sort of A/C.

Rear windscreen and side windows have been replaced with polycarbonate, the roof is made up of carbon fibre and the exhaust system constructed from titanium. Interior wise, more carbon fibre encases the two manually adjustable seats and also covers the floor. Thanks to all of the lightweight material added, this Vantage weighs in at 100 kilos less than regular models making it the lightest one to date.

Each corner sports five-spoked rims as standard, with optional seven-spoked ultra-light rims comprised of magnesium. Each set is covered in Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tires.

As predicted, the V8 engine found in standard V8 Vantage models is upgraded to 440 horsepower, a boost of roughly ten horsepower. The tuned 4.7-litre eight-cylinder engine sends power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed shortshift II automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.

Prices for the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 start at £165,000 in the UK which is roughly AED 871,100. Production is limited to 150 units, which is still 50 more units than its V12 counterpart. Residents in the United States will not be getting any of them; the United Kingdom is to receive 40 units while the rest of the world have to scrap of just 110 cars. Deliveries are scheduled for late 2016.
