Range Rover SVAutobiography, the ultimate luxury SUV

Dubai’s Motor Show is just a month away and already the beans are spilling out of what’s to come. We at dubicars.com can enlighten you with the new Range Rover SVAutobiography, the latest vehicle out of manufacturers performance division.

Originally unveiled at the New York Motor Show earlier this year, patrons visiting the Dubai Motor show can feast their eyes on this uber-luxurious yet powerful SUV.

SVAutobiography packs the same punch as the Sport SVR as the same engine is dropped in, a 5.0-litre eight-cylinder supercharged petrol engine spewing out 550 horsepower sending power through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels.

The luxurious SUV retains the same length and body as the Range Rover Autobiography Long wheel base with a few minor changes, notably the front grille with chrome inlets placed on top of graphite alloy mesh for a distinct look. Of course there is new badging and lettering to set itself apart from the rest and a new two-tone paint scheme, Santorini Black with nine different secondary colours for a truly distinct outer shell, a first for the company. You may choose between 21 or 22-inch high-grade polished alloy wheels.

For an additional option, a pair of Windsor leather seats stowed away in the boot can be folded out for “event seating” for those who would like to enjoy the sights and sounds but don’t want to distance themselves too far away from the vehicle, great for scaling the dunes and enjoying the night sky or light show at Downtown Dubai. Wooden floor panels automatically slide out for easy loading and unloading, another first for Range Rover.

No luxury has been spared inside; it’s like an ordinary Range Rover Autobiography long-wheel base. Four seats, rear entertainment system with DVD player, ventilated seats, multi-zone climate control, rear reclining seats with memory options, leather upholstery and suede roof lining. A 29-speaker premium Meridan Sound System is strategically placed for optimal audio quality. These are just a few of a whole range of features with much more to choose from.

The same goes for exterior options: multiple cameras, parking sensors, blind spot detection mirrors, soft-closing doors and adaptive headlights are here to stay.

Range Rover SVAutobiography and standard Autobiography models don’t have any real competition, that is until the rumoured Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes-Benz Maybach SUV and Rolls Royce’s unnamed SUV all hit the asphalt running. These are set to appear in 2016 and 2017, in turn giving Range Rover some breathing room and rake in the sales until then.
