Summary

This 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser GXR is a rare find in the GCC market, showing exceptionally low mileage for its age. While most examples from this era have surpassed the 200,000 km mark, this V6-powered SUV remains in a prime state for a buyer seeking long-term durability. The Black exterior is a high-demand choice that maintains strong resale appeal across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. As a GCC-spec model, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer temperatures with a reinforced cooling system and high-output air conditioning. This listing represents a unique opportunity to own a legendary off-roader that has been driven less than 2,000 km per year.

This Car vs Other 2013 Land Cruisers

At just 18,500 km, this vehicle sits in the lowest percentile of mileage for any 2013 model currently available in the region. Most Land Cruisers of this vintage are high-mileage workhorses, making this low-use example a significant outlier for collectors and daily drivers alike. The classic Black finish further enhances its value, as it remains one of the three most sought-after resale colors in the UAE and wider GCC market.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim serves as the mid-range sweet spot, providing essential upgrades over the base EXR and GX models that GCC buyers prioritize. It features a power-adjustable driver's seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with front and rear parking sensors that are often optional on lower variants. Additionally, this trim includes a factory-fitted refrigerator in the center console, a vital feature for maintaining comfort during long desert drives.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol Y62 and the Chevrolet Tahoe of the same era, the Land Cruiser leads in overall mechanical simplicity and long-term reliability. Its 138-litre dual fuel tank system provides a significantly longer touring range than the Tahoe, which is a major advantage for cross-border travel between Oman, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. While rivals may offer more soft-touch materials, the Toyota's body-on-frame construction is specifically engineered for superior durability in soft sand.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine is widely regarded as the most cost-effective powertrain in the Land Cruiser lineup, offering lower maintenance costs than the V8 alternatives. Real-world fuel consumption typically averages between 12.9 and 13.4 L/100km, which is manageable for a full-size SUV in the GCC where fuel prices remain competitive. Toyota's massive service network ensures that parts are readily available in every corner of the region, from major cities to remote areas. The Land Cruiser historically enjoys the slowest depreciation rate in the Middle East, often retaining over 60% of its value even after a decade.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 271 hp V6 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission, this SUV is tuned for low-end torque and reliability rather than outright speed. It features a full-time 4WD system with a Torsen limited-slip center differential and low-range gearing, allowing it to navigate the dunes of Liwa or the Hajar Mountains with ease. The inclusion of Crawl Control acting as off-road cruise control helps even novice drivers maintain steady momentum in deep sand or rocky terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured as a spacious 8-seater, featuring a 2-3-3 layout that is ideal for large families. The GCC-specific dual-zone climate control system is exceptionally powerful, with dedicated rear vents ensuring all three rows remain cool even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Practicality is a priority, with wide-opening doors and a split-folding rear bench that accommodates everything from camping gear to grocery runs.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GXR trim include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It is equipped with front and side airbags, along with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC) to maintain composure on slippery or uneven surfaces. The inclusion of a tire pressure monitoring system provides an extra layer of security during high-speed highway commutes.

The bottom line

This is a collector-grade example of the GCC's favorite SUV, offering the mechanical peace of mind of a V6 powertrain with nearly delivery-mileage status. It is the perfect choice for a family or enthusiast who wants the legendary reliability of a 200-series Land Cruiser without the typical wear and tear of a decade's use.
