Summary

This 2014 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum represents the high-water mark for the Y62 generation, pairing the desirable 400 hp V8 with the most prestigious trim level available. In the GCC market, the white exterior is the gold standard for resale value and thermal management during the summer months. As a 12-year-old vehicle, it has matured into a reliable choice for families who need genuine eight-seat capacity without sacrificing off-road pedigree. The Patrol's reputation for dominating both the fast lane of the E11 and the dunes of the Empty Quarter remains unmatched by soft-roaders. For a buyer seeking the ultimate blend of power and prestige, this Platinum edition offers a luxury cabin that still feels contemporary today.

This Car vs Other 2014 Patrols

While 245,000 km may seem high by international standards, it is common for a 12-year-old Patrol in the GCC where long-distance highway commutes between emirates are the norm. This specific example benefits from being the high-output LE version, which is more sought after than the lower-powered SE variants. The white paintwork is a strategic choice for the region, offering the highest demand and best heat reflection in the used market.

LE PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum trim is a significant leap over the standard LE or SE models, adding essential GCC luxuries like a 360-degree Around View Monitor and a premium Bose audio system. Unlike the base trims, the Platinum features ventilated front seats and a more sophisticated Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system that reduces body roll on highways. It also upgrades the interior with higher-grade leather and real wood accents, creating a genuinely executive environment for all eight passengers.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol is frequently cross-shopped with the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Chevrolet Tahoe. It leads the Land Cruiser of this era in on-road refinement and engine smoothness, thanks to its 7-speed automatic transmission and independent suspension. Compared to American rivals like the Tahoe, the Patrol offers far superior off-road hardware, including a dedicated low-range transfer case and locking rear differential as standard.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 is a robust powertrain designed for longevity, though real-world fuel consumption in GCC stop-start traffic typically ranges between 16 and 18 L/100km. Maintenance is straightforward, with an extensive network of authorized service centers and independent specialists across every GCC country, from the UAE to Saudi Arabia. The Patrol enjoys some of the highest residual values in the region, often retaining up to 60-70% of its value even after several years of use.

Performance & Capability

With 400 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque, this Patrol offers effortless highway overtaking even when fully loaded with eight passengers. Its 3,500 kg towing capacity makes it a favorite for hauling boats or trailers to the coast, while the 273 mm ground clearance ensures it can handle weekend desert excursions with ease. The 140-litre fuel tank is a critical feature for the GCC, providing the range needed for long cross-border drives or deep desert exploration.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is engineered for the extreme heat of the Gulf, featuring a high-capacity air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows and a factory-cooled center console box. Platinum models include rear-seat entertainment screens to keep family members engaged on long trips to Salalah or Liwa. Triple-zone climate control and acoustic glass work together to maintain a quiet, chilled environment regardless of the outside temperature.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring front, side, and curtain airbags that protect all three rows of seating. Advanced driver aids for the 2014 model year include Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Intervention, and the 360-degree camera system which is indispensable for parking a vehicle of this size. The heavy-duty body-on-frame construction provides a solid safety cell, while electronic stability control and ABS are tuned to handle both sandy tracks and wet asphalt.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a family or off-road enthusiast to own the most powerful version of a GCC icon at a fraction of its original cost. It is a proven workhorse that offers more luxury and capability than almost any modern crossover at this price point.
