Nissan Patrol LE PLATINUM

Highlights

• 400 hp from a 5.6-litre V8
• 3,500 kg braked towing capacity
• 140-litre fuel tank

Summary

This Nissan Patrol is a standout example of the legendary 'Hero of All Terrain,' combining high-output V8 performance with the range needed for extensive GCC travel. With mileage that is remarkably low for a 10-year-old vehicle in this region, it represents a well-preserved opportunity for families and adventurers alike. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring both heat deflection and superior resale strength. As a top-tier LE Platinum trim, it bridges the gap between rugged off-roader and executive cruiser, offering a cabin prepared for the harshest summer conditions. For the GCC buyer, the availability of parts and the extensive service network make this an exceptionally practical choice for long-term ownership.

This Car vs Other 2016 Patrols

At 137,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is significantly lower than the GCC average of 200,000–250,000 km for a 10-year-old SUV. While many Patrols of this vintage have seen heavy desert use, the preserved condition and lower-than-average odometer reading suggest a more disciplined ownership history. The white finish is the definitive choice for the Emirates, maximizing value retention and keeping the cabin cooler during peak summer months.

LE PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum is the definitive range-topper, distinguished by the 400 hp 5.6L V8 compared to the 275 hp V6 found in SE models. Beyond the engine, this trim adds the essential Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system for flatter cornering and better off-road articulation. Luxury upgrades include ventilated leather seats, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor, features often missing or optional on the SE and Titanium trims.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series in pure horsepower and on-road comfort, largely due to its sophisticated independent suspension. Its massive 140-litre fuel capacity offers a distinct advantage over the Chevrolet Tahoe for long-distance desert crossings or cross-border travel. Inside, the Patrol provides more authentic 8-seater utility and third-row legroom than most European luxury competitors in the same price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically ranges between 16–18 L/100 km in mixed GCC conditions, though highway cruising can drop closer to 14 L/100 km. Nissan maintains one of the most robust authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring affordable parts and high mechanical expertise are always accessible. The Patrol holds its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating at just 8–10% annually, making it one of the safest financial investments in the used SUV market.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 delivers a massive 560 Nm of torque, enabling smooth highway overtaking and enough grunt to conquer the tallest dunes in Liwa. With 273 mm of ground clearance and a selectable All-Mode 4WD system including Rock, Snow, and Sand modes, it is purpose-built for the region’s diverse geography. The 3,500 kg towing capacity is a class-leading figure, making it the ideal companion for hauling boats or heavy trailers across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Configured as a true 8-seater, the cabin is designed for large families with a high-capacity air conditioning system that is legendary for its ability to neutralize 45°C heat. The LE Platinum trim features ventilated front seats to manage the humidity, alongside a rear-seat climate zone with dedicated ceiling vents for all three rows. Acoustic glass and premium leather upholstery ensure the interior remains a quiet, refined sanctuary even during high-speed highway travel.

Safety

This LE Platinum is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and the Intelligent Around View Monitor for a 360-degree perspective when parking or off-roading. Standard driver aids include Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Prevention, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. The body-on-frame construction provides a robust safety cell, while stability and traction control systems are specifically tuned for loose sand and gravel surfaces.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage LE Platinum that has been kept in the region’s most desirable color and specification. It is the perfect match for a buyer who demands V8 power and absolute reliability without the premium price of a new model.
