Like its Boxster sibling, the latest Cayman is a much quieter ride overall than its predecessor, though still makes its presence known on the road at high speed. This model has also had the Porsche badges black packed, black gloss 18” alloy wheels, painted Porsche brake callipers, Rear view camera, rear spoiler, upgraded boss sound system and extended Porsche warranty for total peace of mind and trouble free motoring.
Powering the Cayman is a flat 6 engine producing 275 break horsepower and 290Nm of torque, the 2.7L engine is noisier and more tuneful than it has any right to be and sounds just as fruity as the 3.4. It also handles and drives with such control. The ride on the black gloss 18-inch wheels is close to sublime. Peel into a fast corner and its rock solid, play with the throttle mid-corner and you can feel the car moving the balance around. With a couple of exceptions this Cayman has moved the game on in every area.
Overall fit and finish in the Cayman's cabin are hugely impressive. It quickly becomes clear why Porsche charges more for its two-seat sports car than other competitors. Porsche offers several trim upgrades to meet customization needs. A high-resolution, seven-inch touchscreen in the centre console houses the Porsche Communication Management (infotainment) system, including audio, navigation, and other duties. A grid of buttons below the screen also offer direct access to various aspects of the Cayman's cabin systems.
