Highlights

• 3,674 kg maximum braked towing capacity
• 1,112 litres boot space behind third row
• Naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine

Summary

This GCC-spec Escalade ESV represents the definitive choice for large families who require maximum luggage capacity without sacrificing third-row comfort. The Premium trim is particularly sought after in the UAE for its balance of high-end tech and robust mechanicals, and the brown exterior offers a distinctive, executive look that holds up well against the region's dust. With 420 horsepower from its massive 6.2L V8, it handles the daily high-speed commute between Emirates with effortless confidence. For buyers in the GCC, the ESV’s extra length provides a level of practicality that competitors simply can't match, making it a staple of regional luxury transport.

This Car vs Other 2016 Escalade ESVs

At 180,200 km, this vehicle has been driven roughly 22,500 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the average annual usage for large SUVs in the GCC. The brown metallic paint is a sophisticated alternative to the common white or black options, often preferred by executive owners and maintaining solid resale appeal. Because these engines are known for their 400,000 km lifespan when maintained, this mileage indicates the car is well into its prime rather than nearing retirement.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim adds essential GCC upgrades over the Luxury trim, most notably the Driver Assist Package which includes adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking for safer highway cruising. It also features a rear-seat entertainment system with multiple screens as standard, keeping passengers occupied on long cross-border drives. Unlike the base models, the Premium also includes illuminated door handles and cornering LED lamps that significantly improve visibility in dark desert areas.

Escalade ESV vs Segment Rivals

The Escalade ESV leads the Lincoln Navigator L and Lexus LX 570 in cargo versatility, offering a massive 1,112 litres of space even with all eight seats in use. Its 117-litre fuel tank is specifically designed for long-range cruising, providing a greater range between refills than many European rivals. The Magnetic Ride Control suspension, standard on this trim, also processes road imperfections better than the traditional setups found in the Infiniti QX80.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.2L V8 typically averages around 15.0 L/100km, though this can improve to 13.0 L/100km during steady highway driving between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Cadillac enjoys a wide authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are readily available even for older models. The ESV long-wheelbase variant typically commands a higher resale premium in the local market than the short-wheelbase model due to its high demand for VIP transport and large family use.

Performance & Capability

The 6.2L V8 produces a verified 420 horsepower and 624 Nm of torque, allowing this nearly three-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.2 seconds. Its 3,674 kg towing capacity makes it ideal for hauling heavy boat trailers or horse boxes, a common requirement for active GCC lifestyles. The All-Wheel Drive system is tuned for high-speed stability and can handle light sand tracks and gravel roads during weekend trips to the farm or desert camps.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true 8-seater with a tri-zone climate control system that is specifically engineered to combat 50°C summer temperatures effectively. Ventilated front seats are standard, providing immediate relief from the heat, while the Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound system provides 16 speakers of theater-quality audio. The acoustic laminated glass and triple door seals ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary, even when cruising at 140 km/h on the highway.

Safety

This Premium trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including a 360-degree Surround Vision camera, which is essential for maneuvering such a large vehicle in tight urban parking. Active features like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provide vital support during fast-moving GCC highway traffic. Additionally, the inclusion of a center-row airbag adds a layer of protection rarely found in this segment for that model year.

The bottom line

This Escalade ESV is the perfect match for a large family or executive service needing maximum space and American V8 power with a proven GCC service history.
