Summary

This 2017 Ford Mustang GT Premium offers a unique blend of American muscle aesthetics with the efficiency of the 2.3L EcoBoost powertrain, delivering 310 hp for spirited performance. As a Premium trim, it provides a significantly more refined cabin than the base models, featuring leather upholstery and advanced climate controls essential for the region. While its mileage is higher than average for a 9-year-old vehicle in the GCC, it presents an accessible entry point into the iconic Mustang lifestyle. The classic white exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, ensuring excellent heat reflection and maintaining high resale demand. This coupe is an ideal match for those seeking a stylish daily driver that handles the UAE's high-speed commutes with ease.

This Car vs Other 2017 Mustangs

With 217,000 km over 9 years, this Mustang has been driven roughly 24,000 km annually, which aligns closely with the higher end of typical GCC highway usage. While many listings show lower figures, this vehicle's mileage reflects a life spent on the Emirates' well-maintained road networks. The white exterior is the most practical and sought-after color in the region, offering a clear advantage for future resale value.

GT Premium vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim is a major step up from the base EcoBoost or V6 models, adding leather-trimmed seats with both heating and ventilation—a critical feature for summer comfort in the GCC. It also upgrades the cabin with the Sync 3 touchscreen infotainment system and a superior nine-speaker audio system. Externally, the Premium trim is distinguished by a rear diffuser and heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Mustang vs Segment Rivals

The Mustang competes directly with the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, standing out with its more sophisticated independent rear suspension that improves handling on winding coastal roads. Its 2.3L EcoBoost engine offers a better balance of power and fuel efficiency than the Challenger's entry-level V6. Additionally, the Mustang's cabin technology and ergonomics generally lead the segment for the 2017 model year.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the EcoBoost engine typically averages around 10.1 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, making it more economical for daily city commuting than the V8 variants. Ford maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, including Al Tayer Motors and Al Jazirah Vehicles, ensuring parts are readily available. The Mustang enjoys strong value retention in the regional used market, particularly in high-spec trims like the GT Premium.

Performance & Capability

The turbocharged 2.3L engine delivers 310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 5.5 to 5.8 seconds. This powertrain provides plenty of low-end torque for quick highway overtaking and merging into fast-moving traffic. Selectable drive modes, including Sport+ and Track, allow you to sharpen steering and throttle response to suit different driving environments.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for long-distance grand touring, the front seats are spacious and well-bolstered, featuring the aforementioned ventilation to combat high temperatures. The dual-zone automatic climate control system is robust enough to maintain a cool environment even during peak summer months. Ambient interior lighting and a leather-wrapped steering wheel add a touch of executive luxury to the sporty cockpit.

Safety

The 2017 Mustang comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including electronic stability control, traction control, and a rearview camera. This trim also features the MyKey system, which allows for the programming of speed and volume limits—ideal for younger drivers. Multiple airbags and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights provide additional security and visibility for night driving on unlit desert highways.

The bottom line

This Mustang GT Premium is the perfect choice for a buyer wanting iconic style and modern features without the fuel overhead of a V8, making it a smart, high-value opportunity in today's market.
