Summary

This 2017 Jaguar F-PACE R-SPORT brings the performance of a supercharged 3.0L V6 to a practical SUV frame, finished in high-resale Black. With 188,000 km over 9 years, its mileage reflects consistent highway use, typical for the GCC where long-distance reliability is essential. The R-SPORT trim bridges the gap between luxury and pure performance, offering a more aggressive stance and sharper handling than the standard models. For a GCC buyer, this represents an opportunity to own a World Car of the Year winner that handles the UAE's fast-paced highway traffic with ease. Its combination of All Wheel Drive stability and premium cabin tech makes it a versatile choice for both city commuting and weekend road trips.

This Car vs Other 2017 F-PACEs

At 188,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 20,800 km per year, which is well within the expected range for a 9-year-old car in the GCC. The Black exterior is a top-tier choice for resale value in the UAE, maintaining its appeal far better than niche colors. While the mileage reflects its active life, the GCC specification ensures the cooling and mechanical systems were built to withstand the region's extreme heat.

R-SPORT vs Lower Trims

The R-SPORT adds a significant equipment boost over the Prestige trim, most notably the R-SPORT body kit with distinctive bumpers and body-colored claddings. Inside, you get aggressively bolstered front seats with power-adjustable thigh support and a simulated leather-trimmed instrument panel for a more premium feel. Crucially for the GCC, it includes upgraded driver aids like Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitor as standard equipment.

F-PACE vs Segment Rivals

The F-PACE competes directly with the Porsche Macan and BMW X3, leading with a substantial 650-litre boot capacity that outperforms the Macan for family utility. Its lightweight aluminum architecture provides a more car-like handling experience than the heavier Mercedes-Benz GLC. For long highway drives between Emirates, the Jaguar's supercharged power delivery offers a smoother overtaking experience than the turbocharged 4-cylinder engines found in base-level rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L supercharged V6 is a robust powertrain widely supported by authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. In GCC stop-start traffic, expect a fuel consumption of approximately 12.0L/100km, which improves significantly on the highway. While European luxury SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese alternatives, the F-PACE R-SPORT holds a strong niche in the used market due to its award-winning design and high demand for the V6 engine over the smaller 2.0L variants.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 340 hp supercharged V6, this SUV reaches a top speed of 250 km/h and handles highway cruising with effortless composure. The All Wheel Drive system features Intelligent Driveline Dynamics, which actively manages torque to maintain grip on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. With a 2,400 kg braked towing capacity, it is one of the more capable luxury crossovers for those needing to transport jet skis or small trailers on weekends.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 5-seat configuration with a sliding panoramic sunroof that enhances the sense of space. The dual-zone climate control is engineered to manage high ambient temperatures, complemented by rear cooling vents to keep all passengers comfortable during the peak of summer. Acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise, providing a quiet environment even at 120 km/h highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety features on this R-SPORT trim include a suite of active technologies such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Condition Monitoring, and Reverse Traffic Detection. The vehicle's high-strength aluminum cell is supported by six airbags, contributing to its 5-star Euro NCAP rating. These systems are particularly valuable for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic common across major GCC highways.

The bottom line

Perfect for the driver who wants a sports car soul in a family-sized SUV; this V6-powered R-SPORT is a high-spec, high-resale choice that is ready for another decade of GCC roads.
