Summary

This 2017 Renegade Sport is a standout find in the GCC market, offering the high-output 2.4L engine and four-wheel drive capability in a compact footprint. Its vibrant Orange finish is a rare, high-visibility choice that holds its own in a sea of white and silver, appealing to buyers who value personality alongside utility. With 213,000 km, this vehicle has been a consistent regional traveler, benefiting from the robust cooling and filtration systems standard on GCC-spec models. It bridges the gap between a city commuter and a weekend explorer, providing authentic Jeep DNA with much lower running costs than its larger siblings. For those seeking a durable, brand-name crossover that handles the summer heat with ease, this specific listing offers a well-proven mechanical package.

This Car vs Other 2017 Renegades

While the mileage on this unit is higher than the GCC annual average, it indicates a vehicle primarily used for the long-distance highway commuting common across the Emirates. This usage pattern is often preferable to low-mileage city cars that endure constant stop-start wear and heat soak. The Orange exterior is a distinctive, high-resale choice for the Renegade, as it aligns with the model's adventurous branding and remains a popular enthusiast color in the local market.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The Sport trim with the 2.4L Tigershark engine and 4WD configuration provides a significant power jump over the base 1.4L manual variants often found in other markets. It includes essential GCC features such as the 9-speed automatic transmission for relaxed highway cruising and Uconnect connectivity. Most importantly, this trim levels up with the Selec-Terrain system, allowing you to optimize traction for sand and gravel—a critical feature for weekend outings in the region.

Renegade vs Segment Rivals

The Renegade leads competitors like the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Creta by offering genuine four-wheel-drive hardware and a more rugged, off-road-oriented suspension. While rivals focus purely on urban efficiency, the Jeep provides 200 mm of ground clearance and a 2.4L engine that offers more confidence during highway overtaking on fast-moving roads like the E11. Its boxy design also ensures superior vertical cargo space and headroom compared to the sloping rooflines of many subcompact crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.4L 4WD model typically ranges between 9.5 and 11.5 L/100km, performing efficiently during steady-speed inter-city drives. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a value premium over American imports due to its reinforced cooling system and guaranteed parts compatibility at authorized Jeep centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Standard service intervals occur every 10,000 km, and the Renegade enjoys strong demand in the used market from young professionals and small families, ensuring predictable depreciation.

Performance & Capability

The 180 hp engine provides a punchy driving experience, making it one of the more powerful options in the subcompact segment. The Four-Wheel Drive system is paired with Selec-Terrain modes, allowing the driver to toggle settings specifically for sand, which is invaluable for navigating beach access or desert tracks. With a unladen ground clearance of 200 mm, it comfortably clears the high speed bumps and uneven terrain often encountered outside the main city centers.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is designed for durability and ease of use, featuring high-quality fabrics that resist the intense UV exposure of the Gulf. The air conditioning system is specifically calibrated for the region, providing rapid cooling even when the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Cargo versatility is a major plus, with 524 litres of boot space that expands significantly with the flat-folding rear seats, making it ideal for gear-heavy weekend trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive, featuring a high-strength steel cockpit and a suite of advanced airbags as standard. The Renegade includes Electronic Roll Mitigation and Hill Start Assist, which are particularly helpful when navigating the inclines of the Northern Emirates. Its stable 4WD footprint and robust braking system provide excellent security during the heavy, sudden rainstorms that can affect regional highways.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants a genuine Jeep experience with the practicality of a compact SUV, this GCC-spec 4WD Renegade is a mechanically sound and characterful choice that is ready for the road.
