Summary

This 2014 Nissan Qashqai SE represents a reliable entry into the crossover market, finished in White, which remains the strongest resale color across the GCC. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle the region's intense summer heat with a robust cooling system and a fuel-efficient 2.0L engine. While the mileage reflects a well-used life, these engines are known for their durability when maintained within Nissan's widespread regional service network. This model stands out for its car-like handling paired with a raised driving position, making it an ideal choice for city commuting in Dubai or Riyadh. It offers a practical balance of daily efficiency and the versatility needed for small family weekend trips.

This Car vs Other 2014 Qashqais

At 200,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 20,000 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the average annual usage seen in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The White exterior is a significant advantage for local buyers, as it reflects heat better than darker tones and holds its value best in the secondary market. Being a GCC-spec model, it ensures full compatibility with local service centers and regional fuel grades compared to imported North American or European versions.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim provides a meaningful step up from the base S model, most notably adding essential features for the GCC climate like dual-zone automatic air conditioning and 17-inch alloy wheels. Drivers also benefit from the inclusion of cruise control and steering wheel-mounted audio buttons, which are vital for comfort during long highway stretches between emirates. The upgraded cloth upholstery and fog lights further distinguish this mid-range spec as a more complete daily driver.

Qashqai vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mitsubishi ASX or the Hyundai Tucson, the Qashqai leads with its refined European-tuned chassis that offers superior ride comfort on paved roads. Its 65-litre fuel tank is larger than many competitors in this class, providing a longer cruising range for cross-country drives. Additionally, the Qashqai’s interior ergonomics, featuring NASA-inspired seat technology, offer better long-distance support than most budget crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L engine typically averages around 8.3 L/100km, offering a budget-friendly profile for daily city driving. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km across a massive network of authorized centers including Arabian Automobiles and Al Masaood, ensuring parts are always readily available. The Qashqai maintains a stable depreciation curve in the UAE due to Nissan's strong brand reputation and the high demand for accessible, reliable crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine produces 142 hp, delivering smooth power delivery through an Xtronic CVT that is optimized for fuel efficiency. While primarily designed for urban environments and highways, the generous ground clearance allows for confident navigation over speed bumps and gravel tracks. It reaches 100 km/h in approximately 10.7 seconds, providing adequate pep for overtaking on fast-moving multi-lane highways.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is designed for five passengers with a focus on maximizing usable space, offering a 430-litre boot that expands significantly with the 60/40 split-fold rear seats. The air conditioning system is specifically calibrated for the Gulf, featuring powerful compressors that reach target temperatures quickly even in mid-summer. Good sound deadening ensures a quiet environment, shielding occupants from road noise during long highway commutes.

Safety

Safety is a core strength of this generation, which earned a full 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Standard equipment on this GCC SE trim includes ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, stability control, and multiple airbags. These systems provide essential protection and stability when driving on sand-drifted highways or during the region's occasional heavy rain showers.

The bottom line

This Qashqai is a smart choice for a pragmatic buyer looking for a dependable, GCC-standard crossover that is easy to maintain and holds its value well. It offers the perfect mix of low running costs and Japanese reliability for the daily GCC commute.
