Summary

This 8-year-old Audi Q7 stands out in the GCC market as a well-balanced family cruiser, pairing a potent supercharged V6 with the essential seven-seat configuration. With mileage averaging roughly 18,500 km per year, it has been driven less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the region, suggesting a well-maintained life on the highway. The silver exterior is a top-tier choice for UAE resale, reflecting heat effectively and maintaining its professional look even in dusty conditions. Compared to its four-cylinder counterparts, this 3.0L variant offers the effortless overtaking power and towing muscle needed for long cross-border drives. It remains one of the most refined ways to move a large family between emirates in total comfort.

This Car vs Other 2018 Q7s

With 147,800 km on the odometer, this Q7 has covered fewer kilometers than the average 8-year-old vehicle in the GCC, which typically sees 160,000 to 200,000 km in the same period. The silver finish is widely considered a safe and high-demand color for the UAE used market, offering better heat rejection and stronger resale liquidity than darker shades. Its GCC specification ensures the cooling systems and air conditioning are fully optimized for local summer extremes.

45 TFSI vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the 45 TFSI (3.0L V6) provides a significant performance jump over the base 2.0L turbo, delivering 81 more horsepower for a much more composed highway experience. This trim typically includes the enhanced MMI Navigation Plus and a superior sound system compared to base models, features highly valued by GCC buyers. The V6 engine also brings a higher towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, making it far more capable for weekend hauls than the smaller-engine variants.

Q7 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi Q7 often leads the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90 in interior refinement and third-row accessibility, thanks to its power-folding seat mechanisms. While the Mercedes-Benz GLE offers a plush ride, the Q7’s quattro all-wheel-drive system provides a more planted feel during high-speed highway cruising and stable handling in unexpected rain or sand on the road. Its 85-litre fuel tank also offers a superior range for long-distance travel across the Saudi or Omani borders compared to several compact-tank rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V6 powertrain averages around 10.5–12.0 L/100km in GCC city traffic, dropping closer to 8.5 L/100km on open highways. Audi maintains a robust authorized service network across major GCC cities like Dubai, Riyadh, and Muscat, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. While German luxury SUVs face higher depreciation than Japanese brands, the V6 Q7 retains its value significantly better than the 4-cylinder model due to high secondary market demand for its durability and power.

Performance & Capability

The supercharged 3.0L V6 produces 333 hp and 440 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0–100 km/h sprint of just 6.1 seconds. This power is managed by a smooth 8-speed Tiptronic transmission, providing the immediate torque required for safe overtaking on busy UAE motorways. The quattro system ensures torque is intelligently distributed to all wheels, offering confident traction on gravel tracks or wet tarmac alike.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for families, the cabin features seven seats with a 35/30/35 split-folding second row and a power-folding 50/50 third row. The multi-zone climate control is engineered to combat 45°C+ summer heat, ensuring all three rows receive adequate cooling through dedicated vents. With the third row folded, the boot expands to a massive 770 litres, easily accommodating luggage for a full family weekend trip to Fujairah or Jebel Jais.

Safety

The 2018 Q7 carries a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and comes standard with Audi Pre Sense city and basic, which can detect impending collisions and prepare the cabin for impact. The inclusion of a 360° camera and parking sensors is vital for navigating tight parking spaces in Dubai and Abu Dhabi malls. Additionally, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic assist provide essential support during high-speed lane changes on multi-lane GCC highways.

The bottom line

This V6-powered Audi Q7 is the ideal choice for an executive family looking for premium German engineering and seven-seat utility without the steep depreciation of a newer model.
