Summary

This 2018 Lexus GS350 F-SPORT is a standout find in the GCC market, offering the ideal balance between 115,000 km of verified road use and Lexus's legendary durability. Finished in Grey—a high-demand resale color in the region—this sedan holds its value far better than its European rivals. The F-SPORT trim transforms the executive GS into a driver-focused machine with an adaptive variable suspension and more aggressive styling. For a buyer in the UAE or KSA, this car represents a worry-free entry into luxury performance without the high maintenance costs typically associated with the segment. It is a mechanically robust, high-specification sedan perfectly suited for the heat and long-distance commutes of the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2018 GS350s

With 115,000 km over 8 years, this GS350 has been driven approximately 14,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-expected usage preserves the interior materials and mechanical components from the typical wear of desert highway life. The Grey exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering excellent heat reflection and strong desirability in the secondary market.

F-SPORT vs Lower Trims

The F-SPORT trim is the most sought-after version of the GS350, adding a track-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) that is not found on the base models. Inside, you get 16-way power-adjustable F-SPORT seats with heating and ventilation, alongside a 12.3-inch high-resolution navigation display and a premium 12-speaker audio system. These upgrades, particularly the ventilated seats, provide a level of comfort essential for the GCC summer that base trims often lack.

GS350 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW 5 Series or Audi A6, the Lexus GS350 leads in long-term reliability and ease of service across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Its naturally aspirated V6 avoids the complexities of European turbocharging, which can be sensitive to extreme desert heat. Furthermore, the GS350 features a generous 66-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long cross-country drives between emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 averages around 9.3 L/100km on the highway, making it surprisingly efficient for its power class. Lexus maintains the strongest resale value in the GCC luxury segment, typically depreciating at only 8–10% annually compared to 15% for German competitors. Service is exceptionally convenient with the extensive Al-Futtaim and Ebrahim K. Kanoo networks, with recommended intervals every 10,000 km.

Performance & Capability

The 312 hp V6 delivers a smooth, linear power band that makes highway overtaking effortless. The F-SPORT's 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for quick shifts, while the Drive Mode Select—including Sport S+—stiffens the dampers for enhanced cornering. This rear-wheel-drive setup offers a traditional sports-sedan feel that is increasingly rare, providing a top speed of 230 km/h for those long desert stretches.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the outside environment, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control and deep-bolstered F-SPORT leather seats. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and a power rear sunshade to mitigate the intense afternoon sun. High-quality acoustic glass ensures a quiet ride even at highway speeds, making it an excellent choice for family road trips or executive commuting.

Safety

The 2018 GS350 comes standard with 10 airbags and the Lexus Safety System Plus suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. These systems are particularly valuable on fast-moving GCC highways like the E11, helping to manage driver fatigue. Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are also standard on the F-SPORT, providing 360-degree awareness in busy city traffic.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who values bulletproof reliability as much as performance, this lower-mileage F-SPORT is the most sensible way to own a premium sports sedan.
