• 450 litres boot space
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 7-year-old Mitsubishi Attrage GLX is a prime example of the GCC’s favorite value-driven commuter, offering exceptional efficiency for city traffic and long highway stretches. The silver exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, reflecting heat effectively and maintaining stronger resale value than bolder colors. With a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine, it prioritizes low running costs and reliability over raw power, making it ideal for daily navigation between emirates. This model stands out for its class-leading fuel economy and a surprisingly spacious cabin for its compact footprint. For a buyer in the region, the primary advantage is the peace of mind provided by a massive parts and service network that spans the entire GCC.

This Car vs Other 2019 Attrages

At 149,000 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average mileage for a car of its age in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is common due to highway-heavy commutes. However, its GCC specification ensures it is mechanically optimized for the local climate, unlike North American imports. The silver finish is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly aiding its long-term resale potential.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim provides essential upgrades over the absolute base model that improve the daily GCC driving experience, including power-adjustable side mirrors and front and rear power windows as standard. It also features a more refined 4-speaker audio system and keyless entry, which are high-priority features for local buyers. These small comfort additions make the cabin a significantly more pleasant place to be during long summer drives across the desert.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

The Attrage leads segment rivals like the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny in pure fuel efficiency, making it the most economical choice for high-mileage drivers. While competitors may offer slightly more horsepower, the Attrage provides one of the smallest turning circles in its class at just 4.8 meters, which is a major advantage in tight Dubai or Riyadh parking lots. It also maintains a generous 450-litre trunk, outclassing many sub-compact sedans in cargo utility.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.2-litre engine is one of the most cost-effective powertrains to run in the region, requiring only standard 95-octane petrol. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintenance is both affordable and convenient. This model experiences very slow depreciation compared to European rivals, typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually, which results in excellent value retention at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The Attrage is built for efficiency rather than speed, delivering a verified 0-100 km/h time of approximately 14 seconds. Its lightweight construction is paired with a CVT automatic transmission that keeps rpm levels low to maximize fuel economy during long highway cruises between cities. With a drag coefficient of just 0.29, it slices through the high-speed winds common on GCC coastal roads with minimal cabin noise.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring an air conditioning system known for its ability to cool down quickly even after being parked in direct sunlight. Passenger space is surprisingly ample, with a focus on legroom that exceeds expectations for a car of this size. The silver-trimmed dashboard and intuitive layout create a functional environment that is easy to maintain and stays cool during peak summer months.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist to help prevent collisions on fast-moving highways. It also comes equipped with a driver-side airbag and ISOFIX child seat anchors, which are essential for young families. The inclusion of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is particularly valuable for monitoring tire health in extreme desert heat.

The bottom line

This Attrage is a perfect choice for a practical commuter or as a secondary family car, offering a reliable, GCC-ready package that will likely retain its value better than almost any other car in its price bracket.
