Summary

This 2021 Bronco Badlands delivers the peak factory off-road configuration for the era, powered by the upgraded 2.7L twin-turbocharged V6. With mileage that reflects typical GCC highway use, this Grey American-spec unit offers a significant tech-to-price advantage for local enthusiasts. The Badlands trim is specifically engineered for diverse terrain, featuring heavy-duty suspension and locking differentials that are ideal for weekend desert trips across the Emirates. For the GCC buyer, this represents a chance to own a modern off-road icon that balances high-speed highway stability with genuine dune-conquering hardware. While an American import, its widespread parts availability in the UAE makes it a highly practical alternative to GCC-spec equivalents.

This Car vs Other 2021 Broncos

At roughly 62,500 km, this Bronco has been driven in line with the GCC annual average of 20,000 km, suggesting consistent mechanical use rather than sitting idle. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after neutral tone in the regional used market, ensuring better resale liquidity than more vibrant heritage colors. As an American-spec vehicle, it provides the premium 2.7L powertrain at a more accessible entry point than many local-market counterparts.

BADLANDS vs Lower Trims

The Badlands trim is a major leap over the Big Bend and Outer Banks, adding heavy-duty Bilstein position-sensitive monotube shocks and a front stabilizer bar disconnect for extreme articulation. It also includes front and rear electronic locking differentials as standard, hardware that lower trims often lack or only offer as options. Inside, you benefit from marine-grade vinyl seating and washout floors, which are far better suited for the sand and dust of the GCC environment than standard cloth.

Bronco vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Bronco offers a much more composed highway ride due to its independent front suspension, making the drive between Dubai and Abu Dhabi significantly less tiring. It also boasts a larger 80-litre fuel tank and a more spacious 562-litre boot, providing better range and utility for long-distance regional road trips. While the Land Rover Defender focuses on luxury, the Bronco leads with rugged, modular practicality and simpler mechanical maintenance.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.7L V6 typically consumes between 13.5 and 14.5 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, depending on how much time is spent in heavy city traffic versus cruising at 120 km/h. Ford's authorized service network is well-established across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring reliable access to specialized diagnostic tools and parts. While American-spec vehicles naturally depreciate faster than GCC-spec units, the Bronco’s cult status in the Middle East helps it retain value better than many other imported SUVs.

Performance & Capability

With 330 hp and 563 Nm of torque, this V6 Bronco clears the 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 7.2 seconds, offering plenty of power for confident overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. Off-road, the 261 mm ground clearance and 800 mm wading depth allow you to tackle deep sand and seasonal wadi crossings with confidence. The 10-speed automatic transmission is finely tuned to keep the twin-turbo engine in its peak torque band, whether you are climbing steep dunes or towing up to 1,587 kg.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five passengers with a focus on durability, featuring easy-to-clean materials that handle the intense GCC sun without cracking. Air conditioning performance is robust, essential for summer driving, and complemented by a clear 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen for seamless navigation. The four-door configuration ensures that rear passengers have sufficient legroom for long cross-border journeys, while the removable roof panels provide an open-air experience during the cooler winter months.

Safety

This Bronco comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, providing essential active safety features like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a Blind Spot Information System, which is invaluable on the UAE's multi-lane highways. It also features advanced stability control and multiple airbags, ensuring high levels of protection for all five occupants. The 360-degree camera system is particularly helpful when navigating tight urban parking or checking for obstacles in technical off-road sections.

The bottom line

For the adventurer who wants Rubicon-level capability with modern highway manners, this low-mileage 2.7L Badlands is the most complete off-roader in its price bracket.
