Summary

This 2021 Palisade in the flagship Premium Nappa trim offers a sophisticated alternative to mainstream family SUVs, blending executive luxury with everyday utility. With its white exterior—the most heat-reflective and resale-friendly color for the GCC—it stands out as a smart choice for the region's climate. The 97,548 km mileage is consistent with average highway use in the UAE, where long-distance commutes are standard. For a family buyer, this model delivers a cabin experience that rivals European luxury brands while benefiting from Hyundai's extensive service support across the Gulf. It is a highly capable cruiser that handles both cross-border road trips and school runs with total refinement.

This Car vs Other 2021 Palisades

The mileage on this vehicle is typical for a 2021 model in the GCC, where annual driving often hits 25,000 km due to highway-heavy routes. Its white finish provides a distinct advantage in the local used market, as it is the most requested color for heat management and long-term value retention. Choosing a 2021 model allows you to benefit from the first-generation's proven mechanical reliability and settled depreciation curve.

PREMIUM NAPPA vs Lower Trims

The Premium Nappa trim is a significant upgrade over the SEL, replacing synthetic materials with quilted Nappa leather and adding a suede headliner for a truly upscale feel. It includes essential GCC features like ventilated seats for both the front and second rows, a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, and a premium 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. You also get a head-up display and a dual-pane sunroof that are absent on base models.

Palisade vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, the Palisade offers a more premium interior aesthetic and superior second-row legroom. While rivals often feel strictly utilitarian, the Palisade's V6 engine is tuned for smooth highway overtaking, making it better suited for long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its cabin tech, particularly the blind-spot view monitor, is often cited as more intuitive than systems found in its American competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 is a robust, naturally aspirated unit that avoids the complexity of turbochargers, ensuring long-term durability in extreme heat. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.4 L/100km on the highway, making the 71-litre tank sufficient for long desert stretches. Hyundai's massive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures parts are affordable and maintenance is convenient. The Palisade holds its value remarkably well, typically retaining around 70% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

With a verified 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds, this SUV offers surprising agility for its size, allowing for confident highway merging. The All-Wheel Drive system includes selectable Multi-Terrain modes (Snow, Mud, Sand), providing the necessary traction for weekend trips to light desert trails or gravel mountain roads. Its 291 horsepower ensures that even with a full 7-passenger load, the vehicle never feels underpowered during steep climbs or fast overtakes.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat configuration features second-row captain's chairs, creating a spacious walkway to a third row that actually accommodates adults. In the peak of the GCC summer, the tri-zone climate control and ventilated seating in the first two rows provide immediate relief from the heat. Acoustic-laminated glass keeps the cabin remarkably quiet at 120 km/h, and the power-folding third row makes switching from passenger to cargo mode effortless.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a full suite of ADAS technologies, including Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance. The 360-degree camera and rear cross-traffic alert are indispensable for navigating tight parking spots in busy city centers like Dubai or Riyadh. With a 5-star rating and a comprehensive airbag system, it provides high-level protection that makes it one of the safest family vehicles in its segment.

The bottom line

This Palisade is the ideal match for a family that wants flagship luxury and GCC-ready features without the high maintenance costs of a European SUV. Its high-spec trim and preferred color make it a secure investment for both comfort and future resale.
