Summary

This 2021 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is a prime example of the UAE's most beloved full-size SUV, offering a strategic balance of luxury and efficiency. With a mileage of 138,325 km, it sits right at the expected average for a five-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes are the norm. The silver exterior is the most practical choice for the region, as it effectively hides desert dust and reflects heat better than darker tones, ensuring it maintains a strong resale value. As the highest trim for the 4.0L V6 engine, it provides the premium Platinum interior and advanced tech without the higher running costs of the V8. For any buyer in the GCC, the peace of mind offered by Nissan's massive local service footprint makes this an exceptionally safe long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2021 Nissan Patrols

At 138,325 km, this vehicle's usage is typical for the GCC market, where annual averages of 25,000 km are common due to inter-city travel. The silver finish is a high-demand color in the region, significantly aiding future resale compared to niche colors. Choosing the 2021 model year ensures you benefit from the significant 2020 facelift, including the modernized dual-screen interior and updated LED lighting signature.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim elevates the experience far beyond the SE Titanium by adding genuine quilted leather upholstery and ventilated front seats—a vital feature for the Gulf summer. It replaces the standard 18-inch wheels with more commanding 20-inch machine-cut alloys and adds a 360-degree Around View Monitor for easier parking. Technology is also upgraded with a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system and a rear-seat entertainment suite to keep passengers comfortable on long drives.

Nissan Patrol vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 focuses on rugged utility, the Patrol leads the segment in cabin refinement and ride quality, especially with its plush seating and quieter insulation. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for cross-border trips compared to the smaller tanks found in American rivals like the Chevrolet Tahoe. Additionally, the Patrol's cooling performance is widely regarded as the most effective for extreme 45°C+ temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 powertrain is designed for durability and is more fuel-efficient in stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic than the V8 alternatives, typically averaging 11.8 to 15.0 L/100km depending on AC load. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains the highest possible value in the local market and is eligible for service at any authorized Nissan center across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The Patrol historically enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, often holding over 60-70% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The 275 hp V6 engine is paired with a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission, providing plenty of torque for highway overtaking and confident desert cruising. With 273 mm of ground clearance and a dedicated low-range transfer case, this SUV is fully equipped for weekend dune drives or accessing remote wadis. The selectable terrain modes—Sand, On-Road, Snow, and Rock—allow the driver to optimize the All-Wheel Drive system for any surface encountered in the Emirates or Oman.

Comfort & Cabin

This eight-seater configuration is perfect for large families, featuring a dual-screen infotainment setup that supports modern connectivity. The tri-zone climate control is engineered specifically for the GCC, with dedicated roof vents extending all the way to the third row to ensure every passenger stays cool. Ample storage includes a large cooled center console (cool box) that is accessible from both the front and rear, perfect for keeping drinks chilled during long summer road trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the Platinum City trim, featuring a full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies. This includes Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Intervention, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. The 360-degree camera system and front and rear parking sensors make maneuvering this large SUV effortless in tight urban spaces, while standard stability control and brake assist provide security on loose sand and gravel surfaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a family looking for the prestige and luxury of a flagship SUV with the sensible running costs of a V6 engine. Given the high demand for silver GCC-spec Patrols, this listing represents a stable and reliable opportunity in the current market.
