Summary

This 2021 Nissan Patrol in Gold offers the quintessential GCC driving experience, balancing rugged capability with the high-spec comforts of the Platinum City trim. The Gold exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, masking desert dust effectively while maintaining strong resale demand in the local market. As a GCC-spec model, it is engineered with the heavy-duty cooling systems required to handle extreme summer temperatures with ease. With 155,000 km, this vehicle has been a consistent highway companion, a common and accepted use case for these durable body-on-frame SUVs. It remains a top-tier choice for families who need a reliable, spacious eight-seater that can transition from city errands to weekend adventures without hesitation.

This Car vs Other 2021 Nissan Patrols

At 155,000 km, this Patrol’s mileage reflects a typical life of long-distance highway cruising between emirates, which is well within the design limits of its robust V6 powertrain. The Gold exterior is a significant advantage in the GCC, as it retains a cleaner appearance during sand season compared to darker tones and holds its value better at trade-in. Being the Platinum City trim, it offers a noticeably more premium cabin environment than the standard SE variants found on the market.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim elevates the SE experience with 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a more sophisticated interior featuring quilted leather upholstery. It adds essential GCC luxury features like ventilated front seats and a 360-degree Around View Monitor, which makes parking this large SUV significantly easier. You also benefit from a premium Bose audio system and a power tailgate, features often missing on the base XE or standard SE trims.

Nissan Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser in terms of on-road ride comfort and interior technology, offering a smoother suspension setup for daily city driving. Its massive 140-litre fuel capacity provides superior range for trans-border drives compared to most European luxury SUVs. The interior cabin width is also a standout, providing genuine shoulder room for three adults in the second row, a metric where the Patrol consistently outperforms the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is a staple of the region, known for its mechanical simplicity and parts availability in every corner of the GCC. While fuel consumption in stop-start city traffic averages around 15.0L/100km, the engine is remarkably efficient during steady-state highway cruising. Nissan's expansive service network ensures that maintenance is affordable and convenient across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Historically, the Patrol maintains one of the highest resale values in the SUV segment, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its American or European competitors.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a selectable Four-Wheel Drive system and a low-range transfer case, this Patrol is a genuine off-road tool capable of navigating soft sand and dunes. The V6 engine provides a balanced power delivery that is ideal for overtaking on the E11 while remaining more fuel-conscious than the V8 alternatives. With its high ground clearance and specialized sand mode, it provides the confidence needed for desert camping trips or navigating unpredictable wadi terrain during the winter months.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a climate-controlled sanctuary, featuring a powerful multi-zone air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows to combat 45°C summers. The eight-seat configuration is highly flexible, allowing the third row to fold flat for massive cargo space when needed. The Platinum City trim ensures every journey is quiet thanks to enhanced acoustic glass, while the integrated cool box in the center console keeps drinks chilled during long family road trips.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility suite, including Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking to protect you in fast-moving traffic. The 360-degree camera system is paired with front and rear parking sensors to eliminate blind spots in tight urban spaces. Standard stability control and multiple airbags provide a secure environment for large families, ensuring peace of mind across both highway speeds and off-road trails.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a prestigious, high-spec family SUV that is as capable in the dunes as it is comfortable on the highway, this Platinum City Patrol is a proven and reliable choice.
