Summary

This 2020 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City is the top-tier specification of the region’s most iconic SUV, offering a perfect balance of V8 power and executive luxury. While its mileage reflects the typical long-distance highway use common for larger GCC households, the white exterior remains the most sought-after color for maintaining strong resale value in the local market. Compared to lower trims, the Platinum City adds essential premium features like diamond-stitched leather and advanced driver aids that significantly enhance the ownership experience. This model is engineered to handle the UAE's extreme summer heat with a robust cooling system and ventilated seating. For a buyer seeking the ultimate combination of desert capability and high-speed highway refinement, this listing represents a well-equipped opportunity in the current used market.

This Car vs Other 2020 Patrols

With 162,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is average for a 2020 model in the GCC, where annual driving often reaches 30,000 km due to inter-city highway travel. The white exterior is the highest-demand color in the UAE, providing a significant advantage for future resale value compared to darker shades. As a GCC-spec LE Platinum City, it carries the full suite of region-specific cooling and filtration systems required for long-term reliability in Gulf conditions.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the flagship trim, adding significant upgrades over the Titanium and SE variants, including 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system. Inside, it features exclusive quilted leather upholstery and ventilated seats, which are essential for GCC summers, along with a 360° Around View Monitor that makes parking this large SUV effortless. It also includes the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite, offering superior active safety compared to the base V6 models.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser and GMC Yukon in terms of on-road ride comfort, thanks to its Hydraulic Body Motion Control system. Its 5.6L V8 produces 400 horsepower, providing more immediate acceleration than the naturally aspirated V8 rivals of the same era. Furthermore, the Patrol’s 140-litre fuel tank offers a superior driving range for long-distance desert trips or cross-border travel compared to many European luxury SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages between 16–18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, reflecting its significant power and the use of heavy air conditioning. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, and Nissan’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures parts are always readily available. The Patrol retains approximately 60-70% of its value after three years in the GCC, making it one of the most stable automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine allows this 2.8-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. Its sophisticated All Wheel Drive system features selectable terrain modes (Sand, On-road, Rock, Snow), making it as capable in the Liwa dunes as it is on city streets. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and 273 mm of ground clearance, it remains the gold standard for weekend adventure and heavy-duty utility in the Gulf.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed to seat eight in total comfort, the cabin features three-zone climate control with dedicated ceiling-mounted vents to ensure all rows stay cool during 45°C summers. The front seats are both heated and ventilated, finished in premium quilted leather that resists wear even with frequent family use. Double-glazed acoustic glass and thick insulation provide a quiet sanctuary, shielding passengers from road noise and desert heat during long drives between emirates.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Intervention, and Blind Spot Warning, which are vital for safety on high-speed multi-lane GCC highways. It also features Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection and a 360° camera system that provides a virtual bird’s-eye view, essential for navigating tight parking spaces in Dubai or Riyadh. Six airbags and a high-strength body-on-frame construction provide robust protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who refuses to choose between desert dominance and executive luxury, this Platinum City Patrol is the definitive choice for high-mileage highway cruising and family expeditions alike.
