• 986 hp from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 PHEV
• 25 km electric range (WLTP)

Summary

This 4-year-old Ferrari SF90 Spider represents the technological zenith of the Prancing Horse, combining a potent twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors for staggering performance. As a GCC-spec vehicle in timeless Black, it holds a significant advantage in local resale desirability compared to imported counterparts. The Spider trim is particularly prized in the UAE for its retractable hardtop, which transforms the cabin in just 14 seconds without compromising the hypercar-rivaling aerodynamics. For a collector or enthusiast, this listing offers a chance to own Ferrari's most powerful series-production convertible, perfectly suited for the well-maintained highways of the Emirates. Ownership is further simplified by the brand's robust service presence through authorized distributors like Al Tayer Motors and Euro Motors.

This Car vs Other 2022 SF90s

While many 2022 models in the market are European or North American imports, this GCC-spec example ensures full compatibility with local authorized service centers and regional cooling requirements. Black remains one of the top three resale colors in the GCC, offering a discreet yet aggressive aesthetic that consistently attracts buyers. Given the high-performance nature of this PHEV, a GCC history is a vital trust signal for long-term battery and electronic health in high-temperature environments.

SPIDER vs Lower Trims

The Spider serves as the lifestyle-oriented sibling to the Stradale, adding a sophisticated retractable hardtop (RHT) that can operate at speeds up to 45 km/h. Unlike many convertibles that lose luggage space or performance, the Spider maintains the same 0-100 km/h sprint and top speed as the coupe. It also features a power-adjustable rear window that acts as a wind deflector, a feature highly valued for open-top evening drives in the GCC.

SF90 vs Segment Rivals

The SF90 Spider outpaces rivals like the Lamborghini Revuelto in pure acceleration and offers a more advanced tri-motor AWD system than the rear-drive McLaren Artura. Its 1,000 Nm of combined torque provides immediate overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. Unlike traditional supercars, the SF90’s ability to operate in silent eDrive mode makes it uniquely suited for quiet residential entries in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

Despite its 986 hp output, the SF90 is surprisingly efficient in stop-start city traffic, consuming as little as 6.1 L/100km when utilizing its hybrid logic. This 2022 model likely still benefits from the original 7-year maintenance program, covering annual inspections and fluid changes at authorized GCC service centers. Historically, the SF90 Spider maintains better value retention than the Stradale coupe in the local market, typically depreciating slower than non-hybrid European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The SF90 Spider achieves a top speed of 340 km/h, placing it in the upper echelon of road-legal machinery. The All-Wheel Drive system utilizes two electric motors on the front axle to provide active torque vectoring, ensuring the car feels agile and planted through high-speed curves. Four drive modes, including 'Qualifying' for maximum power and 'Performance' for battery maintenance, allow the driver to tailor the experience for a casual cruise or a spirited run at the Dubai Autodrome.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is a showcase of digital innovation, featuring a 16-inch curved instrument cluster and a head-up display that keeps vital stats in the driver's line of sight. Given the GCC climate, the efficient climate control system and high-quality cabin insulation are essential, keeping the interior chilled even during the summer months. The Black leather interior is designed for a driver-centric experience, utilizing tactile haptic controls on the steering wheel.

Safety

Safety is managed by an advanced suite of electronic controls, including Side Slip Control (SSC) 6.1 and eSSC, which regulate torque to the front motors for maximum stability. Standard carbon-ceramic brakes provide immense stopping power, critical for high-speed highway driving, while the 360-degree camera system aids in navigating tight parking spaces. The rigid chassis and integrated roll bars provide peace of mind in this open-top configuration.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec SF90 Spider is the definitive choice for the UAE buyer who demands the highest possible performance without sacrificing the luxury of open-air driving.
