Summary

This 2022 Range Rover in Autobiography trim represents a significant opportunity for a buyer seeking the pinnacle of British engineering with the added security of GCC regional specifications. Coming with a white exterior, which is arguably the strongest resale color for luxury SUVs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, this vehicle is perfectly suited for the regional climate by reflecting heat efficiently. With the P400 powertrain, you get an ideal balance between the smooth power delivery required for fast-moving GCC highways and the efficiency needed for daily commutes in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. The Autobiography trim is highly sought after in the used market because it includes nearly every comfort feature as standard, which helps maintain high resale value compared to base models. For a vehicle that is two years old, the mileage is perfectly in line with the high-utilization patterns seen across the Emirates, where long-distance travel between business hubs is standard. The most critical ownership consideration here is the presence of the GCC spec, ensuring that the cooling systems, filtration, and air conditioning are optimized for extreme desert heat, unlike imported American or European models.

This Car vs Other 2022 Range Rovers

When looking at the 2022 model year, this specific unit sits in the 'sweet spot' of the used market with mileage that reflects a consistent but well-maintained driving history. In the GCC, where the average annual mileage is often 20,000 km to 25,000 km, this vehicle has been used exactly as intended for a premium executive SUV. Many 2022 models in the region have either been kept as stationary city cars or driven excessively; this one strikes a balance that indicates regular mechanical circulation, which is often better for the air suspension and seals. The white exterior is a massive advantage here, as it is the most preferred color in the secondary market, ensuring you will have a wider pool of buyers when it comes time to upgrade. Compared to other listings that might be imported specs, this genuine GCC unit provides peace of mind regarding service history and local warranty compatibility. The Autobiography trim also ensures this car will always be more desirable than the more common HSE or SE variants found in similar year listings.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY P400 vs Lower Trims

Choosing the Autobiography trim over the standard HSE or SE variants changes the ownership experience from a premium SUV to a true luxury lounge. While lower trims might offer the basics, the Autobiography adds a range of high-end features that GCC buyers find essential, such as significantly upgraded 24-way heated and cooled massage front seats and Executive Class rear seating. The interior materials are vastly superior, featuring perforated Semi-Aniline leather and a full leather headlining that provides better cabin insulation during the peak summer months. You also benefit from the standard inclusion of the Meridian Signature Sound System, which is one of the highest-fidelity audio setups available in any vehicle globally. Additionally, the Autobiography includes the All-Wheel Steering system as standard, making this large SUV as maneuverable as a much smaller sedan in tight parking situations. These high-tier additions are not just about comfort; they are deep-value features that ensure the car holds its price better than mid-range trims.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover competes directly with the BMW X7 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS, but it occupies a unique space that leans more toward exclusivity and off-road heritage. While the German rivals often feel like extended family wagons, the Range Rover maintains a regal stature that is highly respected in GCC car culture. It offers a more sophisticated air suspension system that can raise the vehicle significantly higher than the GLS, providing better capability for those who occasionally visit desert farms or coastal areas. The P400 inline-six engine is famously smoother and more refined than the equivalent powerplants in the Cadillac Escalade, offering a quieter cabin during high-speed cruising between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Furthermore, the Range Rover’s cooling architecture is specifically designed to handle the 50-degree Celsius peaks of the Arabian peninsula better than many converted platforms. It also offers more rear-seat customization options in this trim than you would find in a Lexus LX, which tends to focus more on utilitarian durability over pure passenger luxury.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a 3.0L P400 Range Rover in the GCC is a calculated luxury, with fuel consumption averaging about 10.2L/100km on the highway and roughly 14L/100km in heavy urban traffic. Given the generous fuel tank size, you can easily manage long cross-border drives or UAE-wide trips without frequent stops at the pump. Maintenance should be strictly handled through authorized Land Rover service centers, which are readily available in every major city across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring the service book remains stamped for maximum resale value. In the local market, the Range Rover typically experiences a depreciation of about 15% annually, but the Autobiography trim in white tends to beat this average by retaining a premium of 5-8% over darker-colored base models. Parts availability is excellent across the region, with specialized logistics networks ensuring that even major components are never more than a few days away. Protecting the leather and dashboard from UV damage with high-quality tinting is a standard recommendation to keep the resale value at its peak.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood is a sophisticated 400 horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that utilizes mild-hybrid technology to deliver torque instantly, resulting in a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.8 seconds. This performance is particularly useful for merging onto fast-moving motorways like Sheikh Zayed Road where authority and speed are safety requirements. The vehicle is equipped with the legendary Terrain Response 2 system, allowing it to automatically adapt its drivetrain, suspension, and locking differentials to sand, rock, or gravel at the touch of a button. Despite its luxury focus, it boasts an impressive ground clearance of up to 295mm when the air suspension is fully raised, making it a genuine off-road tool if needed. For those with weekend hobbies, the towing capacity reaches up to 3,500kg, easily handling boat trailers or horse boxes. The AWD system is permanent and intelligent, ensuring that even during rare heavy rain or on sandy highway shoulders, the vehicle maintains absolute composure.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the 2022 Autobiography is a sanctuary designed to shield occupants from the harsh outside environment of the GCC. It features a quad-zone climate control system with a cabin air purification Pro system that filters out fine particulates and allergens, a vital feature during the region's dust storms. The seating layout for five adults is exceptionally generous, with over one meter of legroom in the rear, ensuring that even on long drives to Salalah or AlUla, passengers remain refreshed. Large glass surfaces are treated with acoustic lamination to reduce wind noise at high speeds, while the panoramic sunroof features a power-blind that provides total thermal insulation when parked in the sun. Practicality isn't sacrificed for luxury, as the boot offers over 800 liters of space even with the rear seats in place, accommodating large suitcases or golf sets with ease. Every touchpoint is covered in premium materials, from the knurled metal finishes to the deep-pile carpets that define the Autobiography experience.

Safety

Safety in this Range Rover is managed by a comprehensive suite of sensors designed to protect you on the complex road networks of the GCC. It features an advanced 3D Surround Camera system that provides a virtual bird's-eye view, making it easy to navigate through tight city parking or over tricky terrain. The Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist is a standout feature for the long, straight highways of the region, significantly reducing driver fatigue by maintaining lane position and distance from other vehicles automatically. Blind Spot Assist is particularly effective here, where lane-splitting and high-speed overtaking are frequent. Additionally, the vehicle includes Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and a Driver Condition Monitor that alerts you if it detects signs of tiredness. Standard side-impact beams and a high-strength aluminum body structure ensure that this vehicle remains one of the safest SUVs on the road today.

The bottom line

For the executive buyer who demands the highest specification without the immediate depreciation of a brand-new car, this GCC-spec Autobiography is the most logical choice. It combines the most desirable color and trim with a proven powertrain, making it a secure investment in the premium SUV segment.
