Summary

This 2022 Range Rover First Edition represents the debut of the fifth-generation (L460) model, featuring the potent BMW-sourced 4.4L twin-turbo V8. As a First Edition, it carries a unique production-year specification that includes high-value items like the Tailgate Event Suite and 23-inch wheels as standard. The Eiger Grey exterior is a resilient and high-demand resale color in the GCC, perfectly masking the dust of the region while maintaining a professional executive presence. With its combination of a fresh generation design and the flagship P530 powertrain, this listing offers a sophisticated alternative to performance-heavy rivals while providing unmatched cabin insulation for the extreme UAE summer.

This Car vs Other 2022 Range Rovers

With 62,600 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 21,000 km per year, which is slightly below the GCC annual average of 25,000 km. While base SE models often featured the six-cylinder engine, this P530 utilizes the far more desirable V8, which historically retains better value in the secondary market. The First Edition status specifically ensures it remains more collectible than standard Autobiography trims from the same year.

FIRST EDITION P530 vs Lower Trims

The First Edition sits above the Autobiography, adding exclusive 23-inch diamond-turned wheels and the Tailgate Event Suite with leather cushions. Inside, it upgrades from Windsor leather to semi-aniline hides and includes the 35-speaker Meridian Signature Sound System, which is a significant jump over the 13-speaker system found in SE trims. It also standardizes the rear-seat entertainment screens and a front center console refrigerator, essential for long drives across the Emirates.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X7 or Mercedes-Benz GLS, the Range Rover offers superior off-road geometry, featuring a maximum ground clearance of 295 mm and a sophisticated all-wheel steering system that gives it a smaller turning circle than many smaller SUVs. While rivals focus on on-road tech, this model leads with its 900 mm wading depth and Terrain Response 2 system, which is purpose-built for both heavy flood drainage and soft sand navigation.

Running Costs & Resale

The twin-turbo V8 delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 11.8L/100km (WLTP), though real-world GCC city traffic may see this rise toward 16L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months at authorized Al Tayer or Euro Motors centers across the GCC. As the first year of a new body style, this generation is currently following a slower depreciation curve than the previous L405 model, making it a stable asset for 3-year ownership.

Performance & Capability

The 530 hp output allows this 2.5-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. Its electronic air suspension and twin-speed transfer case provide genuine desert capability, while the all-wheel steering makes navigating tight urban parking in Dubai or Riyadh surprisingly agile. The intelligent AWD system can disconnect the front axle during highway cruising to optimize efficiency.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is focused on executive comfort, featuring 24-way heated and cooled massage front seats and Executive Class rear seating. The four-zone climate control is specifically engineered to handle 45°C+ temperatures, supported by acoustic laminated glass that keeps the interior silent and cool. A 13.1-inch Pivi Pro curved glass touchscreen serves as the hub for all vehicle settings, including the specialized Wade Sensing and off-road monitors.

Safety

This trim includes a full ADAS suite as standard, featuring a 3D Surround Camera system that is vital for maneuvering such a large vehicle in tight spots. For highway safety, it employs Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Rear Traffic Monitor to handle high-speed multi-lane traffic. The MLA-Flex architecture provides a high-strength aluminum safety cell, complemented by a comprehensive airbag system protecting all occupants.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own the highly-specced debut edition of the current Range Rover generation, offering the peak V8 experience with a mileage profile that reflects a well-maintained highway life in the GCC.
