Nissan Patrol LE PLATINUM CITY

Highlights

• 400 hp from a 5.6-litre V8
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2022 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City represents the absolute sweet spot for a pre-owned GCC SUV, offering the preferred 5.6L V8 powertrain with a mileage count that sits well below the regional average for its age. The Nuance Beige exterior is one of the most practical and high-demand colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly aiding long-term resale value compared to darker alternatives. As the top-tier 'City' trim, it balances legendary off-road hardware with modern road-focused luxuries like 22-inch wheels and an updated 12.3-inch infotainment system. For the GCC buyer, this remains the definitive choice for a vehicle that can navigate Riyadh traffic on Monday and the Liwa dunes on Friday. Owning a Patrol in this region ensures total peace of mind thanks to the unparalleled parts availability and specialized service expertise found in every emirate.

This Car vs Other 2022 Patrols

With 50,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 25,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the average annual usage for large SUVs in the GCC. While many 2022 models now approach 70,000 km due to long-distance commuting between cities, this example remains in its mechanical prime. The beige finish is a strategic advantage in this region, as it effectively hides desert dust and reflects heat better than darker tones, making it a priority for seasoned local buyers.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the most prestigious non-Nismo variant, adding substantial upgrades over the LE Titanium and LE T2 trims. Inside, you gain the premium 13-speaker Bose audio system and dual 8-inch rear entertainment screens, which are essential for family comfort during long highway drives. It also features a specialized 'City' front bumper for a sleeker look and ventilated front seats—a non-negotiable luxury during the peak GCC summer months.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the Patrol offers a wider cabin and a standard 8-seat configuration, providing superior interior volume for larger families. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank significantly outperforms rivals like the Ford Expedition, offering much longer intervals between refills on cross-country trips. While the Land Cruiser focuses on technical off-roading, the Patrol is often preferred for its smoother, more refined highway cruising at high speeds.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages between 16–18 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though highway cruising can see this drop toward 13 L/100km. Service intervals are standard at 10,000 km or six months, with one of the most affordable and accessible maintenance networks in the UAE and KSA. The Patrol consistently sits at the top of the market for value retention, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers a robust 560 Nm of torque, allowing this 2.8-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.6 seconds. It features a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system with selectable modes for Sand, Rock, and Mud, supported by a rear differential lock for serious desert excursions. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control system ensures the vehicle stays level and composed, whether you are taking fast corners on the E11 or navigating steep dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of climate-controlled luxury, featuring a tri-zone AC system designed specifically to combat 45°C+ temperatures. Eight passengers travel in comfort with high-quality leather upholstery and a built-in refrigerator in the center console for keeping drinks cold. Acoustic glass and thick insulation keep the interior remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from both engine noise and the harsh desert wind.

Safety

This trim is equipped with Nissan’s full Intelligent Mobility suite, which is particularly effective for fast-moving GCC highway traffic. Key features include Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Intervention, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor that makes parking this large SUV effortless. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Intervention provide an extra layer of safety during long desert drives where driver fatigue can occur.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a V8 legend with modern tech and high resale security, this low-mileage Platinum City is the most logical investment in the current market. It offers the perfect balance of prestige and proven durability that only a GCC-spec Patrol can provide.
